Social activities

You may already be pinning atmospheric interiors ideas and complementary color combinations. It all starts with the base and that is to determine what social activities take place in your living room. This gives you a good overview of what is happening in your living room and what the perfect arrangement is. Where do you start?

Organize it!

Grab a pen and a piece of paper, make a rough sketch of your living room and write down all your needs and wishes. Do you often have friends over and do you also use your living room as a dining room and workplace? In that case, a long dining table or extendable table is a must have. Or do you have young children who spend a lot of time in the living room? Then a creative children's corner is desirable. Are your children a little older and are they playing video games, reading or doing their homework in the living room? Choose a comfortable seating area with a modular sofa. In this way, everyone has their own space and your living room is an inspiring and flexible area.

How to place your furniture

You are off to a good start by setting the base. Now it is time for the best part: the lay-out and accompanying furniture! In order to find out all the possibilities, you can draw different lay-outs or print and cut your furniture and shuffling them around on a piece of paper. Many people start by placing the television or sofa against the wall and use this as their starting point to organize their room. But is this always the ideal and most beautiful solution? Dare to be different!

The right sofa

For example, who claims that a sofa should always be placed against a wall? By placing a sofa in the middle of the room, there is more space for your friends, more space for storage and it enables you to finally make that photo wall you have always wanted.

1, 2 and 3-seat sofas

If you have a large living room, create the perfect set up by placing a 3-seat sofa. Then place a 2-seat sofa and an armchair across from it. Add a beautiful rug and now your seating arrangements are connected.

Just chat

Did you know that when sofas face each other, it is very comfy and is great for socialising too? A coffee table or side table nearby is ideal to serve drinks and fun to style by adding decorations. With a corner sofa, there is enough space for plenty of people.

Flexible furniture

Shuffling!

If you have a big family or your friends come over a lot, it requires flexibility when it comes to your furniture. To accommodate more people, you can easily use a pouffe, stool or folding chair. In a smaller space, multifunctional furniture is the solution, such as a side table that also serves as a seat.

Playful children's corner

There is nothing more fun and good for children than having their own place in the house. A place where they can make wonderful drawings, do their homework at their own desk or cook in their very own mini kitchen. With a few wall shelves at child's height, you can turn every boring corner into something personal. You can also hang a few shelves at your own height and place your favorite books and decorations on them. In this way, you involve the children's corner more to your interior style!

The finishing touch: styling!

Is there a good base in terms of a lay-out? Then it's time for the finishing touch and style your living room with color and decorations. Plants, a beautiful display case filled with objects or finally the gallery wall of your dreams. Make mood boards for inspiration, but also dare to try! It is easy to change your wall color. Drilling holes for picture frames is more difficult, but this tip makes it easier: grab a piece of paper of a newspaper and cut the full size frames, then tape to the wall. In this way, you can find the ideal spot to hang your frames.
