Mattress removal & recycling service
If you buy a new IKEA mattress, you can have your old mattress collected when your new one is delivered. IKEA arranges for the collected mattresses to be processed by RetourMatras. Up to 85% of the material can be recycled, depending on the type and condition of the mattress.
The recycled material can be used as a raw material for new applications. For example, some of the recovered foam is used in certain IKEA products.

*This amount excludes transport costs. Because the mattress(es) must be carried by two, the service is only possible in combination with a two-person truck delivery. Transport cost starts from 59.99. Click here to find more information about the costs of a truck delivery by two.
Step 1: Book the service
Do you have an old mattress that you would like to recycle in a responsible way? You can request the service in the following cases:
- You have two mattresses of maximum 90 cm wide;
- or one mattress of 140 to 180 cm wide;
- or a topper (counts as one mattress).
Your old mattress does not have to be from IKEA. We do not accept slatted bases or box springs.
This service can be booked in the store at the information desk, via customer service or if you order a new mattress via IKEA.nl.

*The service may not be available for your online order. Possible reason is that the service can only be booked in combination with a two-person truck delivery. If your order doesn't qualify for this delivery method, the service will be automatically removed from your shopping cart. Unfortunately the service is not yet bookable through the IKEA app
Step 2: Prepare your mattress
Prepare the mattress and carry it to your front door, in a plastic cover or bag.
You can take this plastic bag with you when you book the service in the store. If you book the service online and don't have anything yourself, the carrier will bring a plastic bag for you. However, we can help you faster if the mattress is already in a plastic bag.
Why a plastic cover? Due to hygiene for our drivers and possible difficulties to properly recycle the materials of the mattress if it gets wet or dirty during transport.
Step 3: We recycle the mattress
The delivery team will take your mattress away, and we will arrange for it to be recycled. IKEA has been a partner of RetourMatras, a Dutch mattress recycler, since 2019. This collaboration is an important step that we at IKEA are proud of. Foam recovered through the recycling process can already be found in IKEA products, such as the ASPSJÖKULLEN foam mattress.

Kitchen removal service
We can disassemble your old kitchen for you, if you choose to have your new kitchen installed by an IKEA installation partner.
Price: 175.- plus 89.- per meter
What to expect
- You can dispose of your old kitchen yourself or have your kitchen installation partner do this for you. The costs for this depend on the amount of waste and the associated size of a container. The costs for removal are at least €175.
- The service includes wall finishing.
- Piping and electrical cables are capped or finished in a safe manner.
- The removal of floor tiles or asbestos-containing material is possible in consultation with the kitchen installation partner and at additional costs.
- Any parking costs will be charged by the partner.
