Not happy with your purchase? From the moment you take possession, you have 365 days to return or exchange your product. If you are an IKEA Family member, you have unlimited right to return or exchange.

Paid for delivery?
If you register your return order within 365 days after receiving, and return the items within fourteen calendar days, IKEA will refund the purchase price. If you return the entire order within fourteen days after receiving the order, IKEA will also reimburse the original delivery costs. You will pay the return costs yourself. We will refund you within fourteen calendar days of your return notification using the same payment method. We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the products or you have demonstrated that you have returned them.
We reserve the right to refuse returns if we suspect misuse. We may charge a fee for any diminished value resulting from use of a product.
Received a damaged article?
Do you want to return or exchange a product because it was delivered with damage? Please go to your order history to notify us.
Return methods
Express returns
Register your return beforehand and we’ll be able to help you return faster at the IKEA store. Use this form and select 'I have an online registered express return' under the 'return items' option on the service number kiosk in the store.
Take the product with you in as original a condition as possible and in/with the original packaging.
Parcel returns
Follow the steps below to return your online purchase. This only concerns parcel post and is currently only possible via PostNL.
Step 1: Submit your return by filling in the form.
Step 2: You will receive a barcode per e-mail.
Step 3: Take your parcel to a PostNL point and let them scan the barcode you received. Find a parcel point using the PostNL location guide.
You will automatically receive the correct address when you register your return.
The costs for returning products in a parcel:
0 - 10 kg: 4.99
From 10 - 15 kg: 9.99
From 15 - 20 kg: 14.99
The maximum size must not exceed 170x73x53cm.
Returns by truck
Was your order delivered by truck? If so, you can easily arrange the return of these purchases yourself via the truck return form.
The costs to return products by truck are as follows:
0 - 200 kg: 59.99
From 200 - 500 kg: 79.99
From 500 - 5000 kg: 119.99
Important: the form is not available for the regions of Zwolle and Hengelo. Contact our Customer Service if this situation applies to you.
Return method for discarded electrical products and appliances
Have you had an electrical product or appliance delivered to your home via parcel delivery and want to return your old, discarded item? You can do this free of charge via PostNL by following the instructions below.
Pack the product in a box, for example, in the original packaging.
Create a shipping label using the PostNL tool via the button below and fill in the details below:

Reply number: 2010
Print the label and attach it to the box, or scan the barcode at a PostNL point. Drop off the package at a PostNL point near you.

90-day trial period for your mattress
We think it's important that your new mattress is comfortable and right for you. It may happen that the mattress you bought does not suit you. That's okay! We give you 90 days to decide whether you're happy with your mattress.
We ask you to try the mattress for at least 4 weeks. This is the time needed to fully adjust to your body.
How it works
- Returning: Still not a good match after 4 weeks? You can return the mattress to the customer service desk in the store or have it picked up at home*. You will receive an IKEA refund card with the purchase amount as credit. Any transport costs are for your own account.
Prefer to have it picked up? Contact our customer service. - Exchanging: Use the received refund card to purchase another mattress. Order online or visit the store. In store you can ask a coworker at the bedroom section if you need help choosing, online you can try our mattress comfort guide.
Did you upgrade? You’ll cover the price difference. If you choose a lower priced mattress, the remaining amount will remain on your refund card. You cannot exchange the Refund card credit for cash.
Once you’ve found your perfect mattress, it’ll be covered by our 10-year IKEA mattress guarantee.
*You can exchange your mattress once within 90 days. Make sure the mattress you return is not dirty, marked or damaged. The following products are included in the offer: inner spring and pocket spring mattresses, foam and latex mattresses. The following products are not included in the offer: ÅGOTNES mattresses, VADSÖ matresses, SÄBÖVIK mattresses, mattresses for sofa beds, baby and children's mattresses, mattress pads, bed bases and slatted frames.
