What is the IKEA policy on sustainable wood production?
Wood is a beautiful, renewable material that feels good and looks great. IKEA is a major user of wood, and that comes with a great responsibility. We are committed to combatting deforestation. In the reference year 2023, 97.8% of our wood was either FSC-certified or sourced from recycling.
That means no wood is used from vulnerable forest areas. Moreover, the forest must remain intact, and no more wood should be removed than can grow back. Naturally, there are also requirements for the working conditions of the people involved.
You can find more information about our wood on the IKEA website
