What is the IKEA policy on the use of plastic?
IKEA is committed to a sustainable future where we want to reduce our waste streams as much as possible and reuse them whenever possible. By 2030, we want to use only renewable or recycled materials.
In our own stores, more than 85% of our waste streams now have a second life. Our own waste is also turned into products. For example, our GODMORGON storage units incorporate recycled plastic.
We ask our customers not to leave their plastic waste in nature and preferably to offer it separately for processing. The better customers separate their plastic and offer it separately, the more recycled plastic IKEA can reuse in its products.
