How do I Install and pair KAJPLATS smart lamp?

You can install and pair KAJPLATS with either a remote or a hub. Read this article to learn how to do the installation and pairing and how to troubleshoot any problems if needed.

KAJPLATS + remote
KAJPLATS can easily be paired with a remote without needing to connect to a hub. 
  • To pair with BILRESA, just add KAJPLATS to the lamp and turn it on.
  • Open BILRESA remote and add 2 LADDA AAA batteries. 
  • Press the tiny button in the center of the battery compartment 4 times quickly and hold it about 5 cm from the bulb.
  • The light will blink when it successfully pairs with the remote.
  • Now you're ready to control the settings already programmed in the bulb! 
  • KAJPLATS Colour white spectrum (CWS) gives you 12 presets with the remote along with an option to dim each setting.
  • KAJPLATS White spectrum (WS) gives you 8 preset white tones from warm to cool to choose from. You can also dim each setting to the right level for you.

*If adding the starter kit products to a hub, they will come unpaired from each other. They can be re-paired in any Matter compatible hub and connected for use in the controlling app.

Do you have a hub?  

The bulb can easily be paired with any Matter compatible hub, such as DIRIGERA or Google home, Alexa, Apple Home, and many more.
  • Start by installing the bulb in the lamp and then turn on the light. 
  • Open the app and it should tell you that it detects a new product to add to your system hub.
  • The app will prompt you to scan the matter QR code (or manually enter the number) on the bulb or sticker on front page of manual in pack or matter QR code on the package.
  • After it finds the product, you can add it to your system and group it with other products.
  • KAJPLATS bulb will blink when successfully paired and you're ready to light up your space!

Quick troubleshooting

If KAJPLATS does not pair after a few tries, you can try these steps:
  • Can't be controlled wirelessly (with remote):
    • Check the remote to see if it can change KAJPLATS colours or dim.
    • Try pairing remote again, holding it closer to the light. It will blink when successfully paired with the remote.
    • If it’s not connecting to the remote, reset KAJPLATS (see below) and try again.
  • KAJPLATS is not turning on, or blinking:
    • KAJPLATS has its own built in dimming and therefore doesn't work with a wall or dimming switch. Try testing without the fixture attached to a dimmer switch.
    • Try pairing again or resetting.
  • Reset KAJPLATS:
    • Reset by quickly turning the light on and off 6 times. The light will blink and then start working.
  • Update DIRIGERA hub:
    • Unplug the hub, wait 30 seconds and then plug-in and restart it again. Give the software time to update and restart. Your IKEA Home Smart app should still show the products you have already paired and is ready to add new products.
  • Using other matter-compatible hubs:
    • reset your hub and follow the corresponding app instructions for adding new products.
