Why are there stars on my IKEA freezer or freezer compartment?
The stars shown on the freezer or freezer compartment indicate the freezing capacity.
The more stars there are on the freezer, the colder it can cool. Freezers with more stars are also more suitable for putting fresh produce in than appliances with a single star. The stars also say something about the period during which you can store products in the freezer.
In the overview below you can read what the biggest differences are:
Number of stars | Minimum temperature | How long can I keep products? |
* | - 6 ºC | Two weeks |
** | - 12 ºC | Two months |
*** | - 18 ºC | One year |
**** | - 18 ºC (constant) | More than one year |
