What is the difference between a crushed marble and a ceramic washbasin?

Crushed marble is softer than ceramic and is therefore more susceptible to stains and scratches.

It is important to clean the washbasin regularly to prevent stains and scratches: 

Cleaning crushed marble washbasins 
Use a mild detergent or soap and water. To prevent stains, crushed marble washbasins must not be exposed to acids, aggressive detergents, hair dye or chlorine. Abrasives, steel wool or sharp tools can damage the surface. In case there are scratches, treat the washbasin with car wax. 

Cleaning ceramic washbasins 
The surface is resistant to most chemicals. You can use detergents of your choice to clean your bathroom with.  

Regardless of the materials used in your washbasin, there’s always a chance of scratches or impact damage if a heavy or sharp object falls onto it.
