What is the IKEA policy on animal welfare?

Our goal is to ensure that all animals destined for food and products in the IKEA range - whether cattle, pigs, poultry, sheep, goats or fish - are treated in a respectful and humane manner.

To achieve this, we choose suppliers who share the same animal welfare values and want to work together to improve animal welfare standards. We also work together constructively, engaging in dialogue with veterinarians, governments, authorities and charities, among others.

We follow the local legislation of the country where the animal is located. Our requirements may be stricter than local legislation.
