What are IKEA candles made of?

IKEA candles are made from stearin, paraffin wax and / or vegetable wax.

Depending on the type of candle and the transport distance, some raw materials are more suitable than others for making candles. The distance between the supplier of the candles and the source of the raw material also plays a role in the selection of the material.

The stearin we use is made from animal fats. At IKEA we only use animal fats that are a by-product of the food industry.
