What do you need from IKEA

  • Replacement front - contact your preferred store to get the right replacement part. In case of METOD/ENHET/BESTA/PAX/PLATSA/SMASTAD you can order new fronts with your article number online or in store.
  • Free spare parts small (screws and plugs)

Step 1: Remove the old front

Start by opening the drawer or door. Use your screwdriver to remove the screws holding the old front in place. Be sure to keep the screws in a safe place, as you can use them to attach the new front if they are still in good shape. If they are not in decent shape, you can get new spare parts for free. Carefully remove the old front and set it aside. You can always refer to the assembly instruction that came with your furniture to help you detach the front properly, by following the attachment instructions backwards.

Step 2: Attach the New front

Align the new front with the drawer or door. Hold it in place and use your screwdriver to attach the screws. Make sure the front is securely fastened and aligned properly. If you are replacing a door front, attach the new hinges as well if they are not in good shape anymore. You can get the small spare parts for free. Use the assembly guide again to make sure you are attaching the new front correctly.

Step 3: Check Alignment

Once the new front is attached, check to make sure it opens and closes smoothly. Adjust the screws if necessary to ensure the front is properly aligned and secure.

Step 4: Finish Up

Give the new front a final wipe down with a clean cloth to remove any fingerprints or dust. Your furniture now has a fresh, new look! Make sure to bring your old fronts to a proper recycling place or give someone else the chance to give them a second life at their home.
