Outdoor plants can make any outside space feel livelier and more welcoming. Fill your garden bed with some fresh plants or decorate your balcony with plants in pots and flower boxes.

Begonias

Begonias are great, versatile outdoor plants that are easy to take care of. They are just as happy in a pot as they are in a flower bed. Just make sure to put them in a spot with partial or dappled sunlight and allow the soil to dry out between the watering. Begonias come in many different colours such as red, orange, yellow and pink. So, feel free to pick begonias that match your style.

Hydrangeas (Hortensia)

Hortensia is a popular plant because of its large and colourful flowers. They can grow as trees or climbing vines, but most are grown as a shrub. Hydrangeas can grow in full to partial sunlight, depending on the variety of plant. In general, they are keen on water but can, like every plant, be over-watered. A basic rule is to look at the leaves. Are they starting to drop? Then it's time for watering.

Jasminum

Jasminum plants, or jasmines, are known for the seductive scent that comes once the flowers bloom. The jasmine is a climbing tree and can, if you allow it, grow quite big. It’s a perfect choice if you have an espalier in your garden. The jasmine is happiest in a sunny, but cool place. When it comes to water, this is a thirsty plant especially when it blooms. A good rule is to keep the soil slightly moist at all times.
