What garden dining set should you choose?

When choosing the best garden dining set for your outdoor space there's a few things to consider. How many seats do you need? What material do you prefer? And what shape and finish will suit your patio or garden? 

Calculate the amount of seating

At IKEA, you'll find dining sets from small two seaters to larger sets that can seat up to eight people. When looking for the right dining set, ask yourself: how much space do I have, and how much seating do I need? Aside from providing seating to your immediate family, will you host dinners and parties? If so, will it be often enough that you need to be able to easily add seats? 

Several of our garden furniture sets include drop-leaf tables, where a two-seater can easily serve a dinner for four. A patio set for six can quickly be arranged to a table for eight. Have a few foldable or stackable chairs somewhere accessible to bring out as soon as you need them.

Match the shape and finish with the outdoor area

When choosing a garden dining set, consider how it complements the rest of the outdoor area. How can you match the colour of the furniture with the colour of your blinds? And how can the table set design accentuate your patio or balcony? 

A recommendation is to match the colour with other parts of the outdoor area. It could be the shutters, awnings or other furniture. This can help you create a coordinated look. Use some outdoor cushions and a few warm blankets to add complementing or contrasting colours. This way, you can complete your look while making the space more comfortable. 

Add a parasol and cushions to your garden dining set
