Creating a sustainable future through small everyday actions
‘A Better World Starts at Home’ is IKEA’s global campaign launched in 2019, highlighting the importance of sustainability and deliver the message that every small actions can create a big, meaningful impact on people and the planet. This year’s campaign will include various online and offline activities to inspire the many Koreans to live a better life at home and contribute to a more sustainable future with IKEA’s affordable and sustainable home furnishing solutions.
As a part of this year’s campaign, IKEA Korea has selected 'Better for People + Planet' products, which will be labelled with a 'green dot' so that customers can more easily find and choose sustainable products that meet their personal needs. These 'Better for People + Planet' products include HÅLLBAR waste sorting solution, TIPHEDE flatwoven rug, and GUNRID air purifying curtain, which are made with responsibly-sourced, reused or recycled materials, and some can also enable the many people to save resources such as energy and water, and reduce or recycle their waste. 'Better for People + Planet' products are available for purchase at all IKEA stores in Korea (Gwangmyeong, Goyang, Giheung and DongBusan) and the IKEA Korea website.
IKEA also launched the new ‘IKEA Better Living App’ as part of the campaign, through which the many people can easily discover and log sustainable everyday actions like choosing a plant-based meal or air drying laundry. To celebrate the launch of the 'IKEA Better Living App’ and promote active participation, IKEA Korea will host 'One Planet Challenge’ for one month starting on April 16, where top 100 participants with the most popular posts on their everyday sustainable actions will win a KRW 50,000 IKEA gift card.
The ‘IKEA Better Living’ app is available for download for free on App Store and Google Play. For more information on the 2020 ‘A Better World Starts at Home’ campaign, visit the IKEA Korea website.
