IKEA Korea launches FY17 campaign ‘Share Delicious Time Together’

A new campaign on the precious time shared with families and friends in and around kitchen

[Seoul – September 22, 2016] Home furnishing company IKEA Korea announced the launch of new campaign “Share Delicious Time Together”. The new campaign that will be carried on for the coming year focuses on “various areas related with foods at home”

“Share Delicious Time Together” campaign highlights the value of cooking and having a meal with families and friends, and it is designed to inspire more people to share such experiences. Through the new campaign, IKEA Korea will introduce diverse home furnishing ideas to share happy moments with families and friends while cooking and eating in and around the kitchen.

In alignment with the new campaign, IKEA Korea is offering cooking and eating products for the first time in Korea. IKEA Gwangmyeong store created a space of 1,000m2 in the home furnishing area in order to sell its new cooking and eating products, which amounts to 700 items. The products began selling from September 9th 2016.

André Schmidtgall, Country Retail Manager at IKEA Korea, said, “We are delighted to introduce the full range at IKEA to our customers here in Korea,” adding,”IKEA Korea will put further efforts into inspiring more Korean consumers on home furnishing. We hope that Korean consumers will be able to rediscover the value of the time with their loved ones in and around the kitchen via our new campaign.”

Meanwhile, according to IKEA Korea, the company has had a successful FY16 (period from September 2015 to August 2016), earning sales of KRW 345 billion. Turnover from January to August, specifically, increased 17% compared to a year ago. The number of co-workers is 992 and the number of IKEA FAMILY members is 900,000 as of the end of FY16.

Moreover, IKEA Korea will hold various events under the theme of ‘Hej JIPBÖP’ from 27 September to 12 November at Times Square, Yeongdeungpoin Seoul, in celebration of the launch of the new campaign.’Hej JIPBÖP’ will offer diverse and fun activities where everyone is invited to cook and share meals with families and friends. Also, as a part of the campaign, IKEA Korea will launch its new Brandrama, which will be aired on TV and online from 23 Septemebr.
