IKEA Korea launched ‘Culinary Project of IKEA and Won-il Lee’

As a part of ‘Share Delicious Time Together’ campaign that IKEA Korea has launched since September 2016, the event was designed to re-highlight the value of happy moments with families and friends while cooking in and around the kitchen by introducing Chef LEE’s new limited menu offering made with IKEA meatballs.

At the event, Chef LEE provided a cooking demonstration for his own menu called ‘Braised Meatball’ which will be sold at the restaurant of the store for three weeks from March 24(Fri) to April 14(Fri). Having IKEA meatballs as a main ingredient, the menu was prepared in Chef LEE’s special recipe. During this period, customers can have the dish at KRW 6,900, while it is available at the special price of KRW 5,900 for IKEA FAMLY members. Besides Chef LEE’s meatball menu, the company also introduced various IKEA food-based easy and simple home dining recipe tips created by Chef Lee’s team, including ‘Cream Soup with IKEA Veggie Balls’ and ‘Meatball Rice Porridge’.

“I created Braised Meatball by using IKEA meatballs and adding Korean taste sauces” said Chef Lee “I hope more people enjoy cooking and dining in an easy and simple way at home with IKEA food and recipes.”

Karen Hughes, IKEA Korea Food Manager said, “As there is growing interest in home-cooked meals called ‘Jipbop’ and home dining, kitchen has been a special area at home for people to have their precious time with families and friends”, adding, “We will make further efforts to highlight the value of cooking and eating with their loved ones in and around kitchen through our own home dining solutions.”

Until April 30(Sun), IKEA Korea will also provide special offer on various kitchen and cookware to its FAMILY members. Made of stainless steel which makes the pot durable, IKEA 365+ 6-piece cookware set is available at KRW 49,900, while IKEA 365+ Wok can be purchased at KRW 19,900. IKEA FAMILY members can also buy ARV 18-piece dinnerware set that combines a simple, rustic design with a soft ruffled edge at KRW 49,900, and the feldspar-made VÄRDERA 18-piece dinnerware set at the same special price.
