IKEA Catalogue 2021, ‘The handbook for a better everyday life at home’ to be released on August 25

IKEA Korea’s second city touchpoint to offer convenient one-stop shopping experience
The first printed IKEA Catalogue was issued in 1951, and since then it has been a main IKEA marketing communication tool. Marking its 70th anniversary, the IKEA Catalogue 2021 will be an inspirational handbook full of smart tips, hands-on ideas and small affordable shifts, demonstrating the positive power of a good home. With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, time spent at home has increased and activities at the home have become more diversified, making life at home more important than ever. The new catalogue will inspire and enable the many people for healthier and more sustainable life at home, with a focus on providing affordable, smart and practical home furnishings to the many people.
For IKEA Catalogue 2021, the ePublication will be launched on a new, upgraded platform for users to conveniently experience IKEA’s inspirational home furnishing ideas and tips anytime, anywhere. Optimized for PC and mobile devices, the new platform has a cleaner design of the framework, a more user-friendly interface and additional functionality for sharing. Users will be able to flip through the pages in PDF, like with the printed catalogue, or view page by page. A major change is hot spotting of products in images, so users can click directly on the image to open product information. From that it is possible to place the product in a shopping tray that is synced with the IKEA website, providing a quicker and more direct connection to shop online.
With the annual release of the IKEA Catalogue, IKEA also introduces ‘New Lower Price’ products to reach more of the many with more affordable home furnishing products at lower prices by reducing costs, without having to compromise on quality. This year, a total of 129 products will be offered at New Lower Price, down by 15% to 30%, which includes NORDKISA dressing table(KRW 129,000), MORSNING valet stand(KRW 39,900) and TRADFRI remote control kit(KRW 34,900), which will enable the many people to create a more sustainable life at home at affordable prices. About 2,500 new products are introduced to the IKEA range each year, and this year’s catalogue will feature new products like the FYRTUR block-out roller blind (KRW 199,000) using 100% recycled polyester and MISTERHULT table lamp (KRW 39,900) with renewable bamboo, along with a variety of inspirational home furnishings tips and ideas.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, distribution of the IKEA Catalogue 2021 will focus on amplifying its content across several media channels such as the IKEA website and official social media, with approximately 38 million FSC™ certified copies to be printed and distributed in 45 countries.
