IKEA Gwangmyeong store opens on December 18

IKEA announced today that the IKEA Gwangmyeong store, first IKEA store in Korea.
Located within the store, IKEA Restaurant offers healthy Swedish and Korean meals made from fresh ingredients at affordable price. Also at the store children can play at the playroom called ‘Småland’ while parents enjoy shopping. Småland operates from 10a.m. to 10p.m., and IKEA co-worker safely takes care of the children for 1 hour, free of charge.
With the aim to be one of the most sustainable stores in Korea, the store had invested over KRW 6 billion to sustainability solutions. The IKEA Gwangmyeong store installed 3,000 solar panels on the roof to generate electricity, and all of the lightings at the store use LED. Moreover, the store features heating system using geothermal energy and also installed free electric car charging stations.
The IKEA Gwang Myeong store is conveniently located near Gwang Myeong KTX Station, in Iljik-dong, Gwang Myeong, as well as three highways running to and from Seoul, providing great accessibility to customers living in Seoul, Incheon and Gyeonggi area. The operation hour is from 10a.m. to 10p.m.
