IKEA furniture assembly service available on demand nationwide from October via shared community pl

Starting October, all IKEA Korea e-commerce customers across the country will be able to conveniently order a furniture assembly service through shared community platforms (SCP).

A shared community platform is an online/mobile marketplace that connects customers and independent service providers, enabling them to exchange services on various tasks including delivery, furniture assembly and installation. Due to their convenience and quality, such platforms are gaining popularity in overseas markets like North America, Europe and Australia, with an increasing market potential for continued expansion.

This on-demand furniture assembly service will be available nationwide from October 1 through SCPs “Anyman” and “ZzamZzam” While the existing IKEA assembly services provided by its official partner have been limited to Seoul and parts of Gyeonggi area, IKEA Korea will be providing information on the option to order assembly via SCP to all customers nationwide who make a purchase online. In this way, IKEA Korea aims to offer more convenience to meet the needs of more of the many people in today’s fast-changing retail environment and, at the same time, grow together with startups and small entrepreneurs in the Korean market. Any customer of IKEA Korea e-commerce can now order an assembly directly from the platform of their choice to any location in Korea. Customer support will be provided conveniently by each platform.

Customers can order assembly services directly through the platform website or mobile app by entering the product information, address and preferred time window for the service. Based on the skills, customer reviews and price quotes set by the service providers, customers will be able to select the right service provider for the job and confirm the details. More information about the platform operators and user instructions can be found on the mobile apps of each platform. Meanwhile, details of the range of IKEA services are also available on the IKEA Korea website (www.ikea.kr).

“We are excited to offer an additional option of qualitative service in order to meet the needs of our customers seeking for more convenient, affordable assembly service.” said IKEA Korea Customer Fulfilment Manager, Severine Mathieu, adding, “we will continue our efforts to make the IKEA shopping experience even more inspiring and convenient in today’s rapidly changing retail environment.”
