Product details

Wireless smart blinds darken your bedroom with a push on the remote control – and you won’t have your sleep disturbed by moonlight or be woken by the sun when you want to sleep in late.

By connecting this product to DIRIGERA hub, you get more out of it and can also control it, together with other smart products, in the IKEA Home smart app.

You can use DIRIGERA hub and IKEA Home smart app to control your wireless blinds in different ways, set them to go up and down with a timer and create several groups of wireless blinds.

The blind comes pre-paired with the remote control and the signal repeater.

For the blinds wireless functions to work, the signal repeater (included in the package) needs to be plugged in to a power socket within 10 meters from the blind.

The blind is cordless for increased child safety.

BRAUNIT battery pack is the power source to your wireless roller blind.

No need to change fittings or drill new holes if you change your blinds. The wall/ceiling brackets included in the package are suitable for TRETUR, FYRTUR and KADRILJ roller blinds

Reviews

Fiddly to connect and drops connectionVerified ReviewerVery temperamental in operation and drops connection to the bridge often although good wifi. Fed up with trying to repair.1
Good product but a painVerified ReviewerGood product but a pain to work with the app4
Firstly I must say IVerified ReviewerFirstly I must say I am very pleased with the blinds. However the pairing is still not clear enough, I installed the 2 new ones, (I have 7 now) but to get them to work I had to delete them fron the app and reinstall them because the app could not find them. Fitting the 2 blinds to the windows took less them 15 minutes, pairing them took several hours. Having said that, I still recommend buying them, they are excellent blackout blinds, the battery life is excellent. The really good thing, I find, is I can open and close the blinds, even when I am away from home (Also when I am in another country) using my Alexa app. (So the house doesn't look empty). Highly recommended, especially when you are getting older! (I am 71yrs old this year) and don't have to get up to close the blinds, just click the remote or tell Alexa to close or open the blinds, all, or which ever blind you want to close or open. I am sure if you purchase these blinds you will be very pleased. Thank you IKEA.5
What a bitter disappointment!Verified ReviewerBought two to put up and they were a complete nightmare to set up. First, because of the design and how they are manufactured, it is impossible to get these to come down vertically straight. How they are fixed to the roller they move left to right at least an inch either side. But the most frustrating thing is the setting up of the paired remote with the blind. There is no mention at all in the instructions that you need the Wifi module plugged into a socket, the design of that is so bad that you cannot use another plug in the socket next to it. There is no instruction on how to pair the remote to the module and then to the blind. It says these are paired out of the box, mine was not. An hour spent watching youtube videos, who all say these are common problems, to find that the supplied battery was dead! Manufactured 29th Nov 2020, so 2 years old stock! I replaced battery with the one not put up, had to reset everything, now I could see the lights, took another hour. Never buy again!1
Surprisingly excellentVerified ReviewerWe have purchased three of these blind at Warrington Ikea. Their price was quarter of what other blind suppliers quoted for us. Installation was quite simple, (but myself a builder). Connect them together wasn’t difficult, could make it at first try. They are working perfectly fine. Batteries life excellent too. Haven’t been charged since we bought them, 2 months ago. Highly recommend to everybody who wants a bit of extra comfort in their home.5

IKEA Certainly not as good as it used to be!Verified ReviewerBought two to put up and they were a complete nightmare to set up. Fyrtur blindsVerified ReviewerBlinds are brilliant and great value, but the app and smart home integration is extremely flakey. Once you’ve setup the blinds with the local remote and set the height etc, as soon as you pair with the base station it loses all settings and has to be setup again. It also took about 30 attempts to get the open close remote paired with the base station (ikea).4
FYRTURVerified ReviewerWay over my expectation4
Excellent price point. All smartVerified ReviewerExcellent price point. All smart products need clear commissioning instructions and access to responsive product support - I would rate 5/10 in this case. Forums were my source of support to sort out teething problems.4
Terrible Software - the opposite of SmartVerified Reviewer2 Stars because the blinds themselves are good. However, the software is appalling - buggy, inconsistent, simply not saleable. I’ve wasted hours trying to set this up and i’m not a novice. Ikea need some new coders and to fire whoever signed this off as ready for sale. It’s nowhere near.1
Size discrimination!!!Verified ReviewerChecked out these blinds and they look pretty good, great quality and good concept, to my surprise the sizes are a major let down, they only come in even size increments, my windows are 130cm for example as are many Victorian windows! So if you don’t have even sized windows, you’re out!! Strange when they used to sell Venetian blinds, sizes where much more universal. Maybe Ikea will become less sizest!! :-)3
Great - when they were workingVerified ReviewerI purchased four of these - three in the living room and one in the kitchen. One appeared to be a return as there was no remote in the packaging and it looked like it had been taped back up. No worries though, as I didn't need three remotes in one room. After the initial (usual) palaver of persuading the gateway that everything existed, all was fine and dandy. Through the Ikea app, Alexa and Apple. That was, until a month ago, one just refused to do anything. I fully charged the battery again and it worked for a couple of days. Charged again. Nothing. Reset the blind and it moved a couple of inches and, since then, has remained non functional. I've swapped batteries with the other three functioning blinds to eliminate a dud as the cause. Tried resetting it umpteen times. Basically, it doesn't work. After four months. I'd love to recommend these as, when they're working (gateway pairing aside) they're great.1
Doesn’t work with AlexaVerified ReviewerI bought this blind plus the additional ‘hub’ so that my blinds work with Alexa. You can set up routines and they should work via voice control. Unfortunately they are ‘disconnected’ 95% of the time, which means that I still have to use the remote. There seems to be no reason for it as they do work for 5% of the time. Very frustrating and a lot of money to spend - looking online it seems that many people have the same issue. The app I was instructed to download also seems completely geared towards Ikea smart lights and is very unintuitive, I can’t work it at all.1
Automatic blindsVerified ReviewerI have 3 of these blinds now and they work fantastically for me. I have only given them 4 stars due to their mounting and sizing issues. Firstly it's nearly impossible to mount them into a recess so they have to sit outside of it and secondly the size options are very limited. I would like to be able to purchase another one but my window is too large, and also these cannot be cut down to size. Mine are controlled through a Hubitat box not through the tradfri system and I believe they also work with smarthings, doing this opens these up to a full world of automation. Basically if you can get the size you need and don't mind them mounted outside a recess they are really good.4
Total eclipse!Verified ReviewerThis blind does exactly what it says. Blocks out all light! Fantastic! With the added extra of being ‘smart’ and able to be added to Apple HomeKit it will open & close at the sound of your voice! Magic! A bit fiddly to figure out what fittings you need which you can’t do until you open the box! But quite easy to put up once you have all the plugs & screws.4
An expensive dümbVerified ReviewerInstalling the blind was fine however getting it to recognise my network has been impossible. I have now spent 10+ hrs trying different combinations of resetting my router, the repeater, the hub, all without success. There is very little in the way of help or support available so I’ve ended up with a very expensive dümb blind1
Quiet and reliableVerified ReviewerFantastic blinds. I wish there wre other colours to choose from. Easy paring with the gate, I would suggest updating the guides and treat them differently than the furniture. The pictures might be slightly misleading.5

Our take on polyester

Polyester is a durable, wrinkle-resistant and easy-care material that is ideal for many home furnishing products like rugs, pillows, quilts and cushions. The downside to virgin polyester is that it is made from oil, coal or natural gas. This means that when we use virgin polyester, we are exhausting the planet’s natural resources. Our response to this, is to replace all virgin polyester with recycled in our products. In 2020, we achieved the milestone of replacing 79% of the virgin polyester used in IKEA textile products and will accelerate the transformation towards the aim of only using recycled polyester throughout the product range where polyester is used.

Virgin vs recycled polyester

Originally, all polyester was made from oil-based raw materials which are not renewable but we are switching to only using recycled polyester. The good thing is that polyester can be recycled over and over, without negatively affecting the quality of our products. When we make products from recycled polyester, we give a second life to material that is not biodegradable and reduce the amount that may otherwise end up in landfill or the ocean. Instead, PET and other sources of polyester are used to make textiles, storage boxes, kitchen fronts and even lamps. Recycled polyester is just as good as virgin polyester in terms of looks, quality and function, and produces about 50% less in CO2 emissions. And the material is just as clean and safe in every way.

Some challenges with recycled polyester

Recycled polyester makes us less dependent on oil. The amount we convert, is equal to the amount of virgin fossil fuel we eliminate from our polyester raw material (this excludes potential dyeing and other post recycled polyester production treatments). With some exceptions, the challenge is not the conversion of polyester into recycled itself, but to make it available to everyone by keeping it affordable. Buying low environmental impact products often comes with a higher price tag. We want to change that by working to make recycled polyester products more affordable and accessible to the many people.

Only recycled polyester

IKEA is committed to end the dependency on virgin fossil materials and only use renewable or recycled materials by 2030. We are accelerating this movement for polyester in our range and aim to replace all virgin polyester in our textile products with recycled. In 2020, IKEA replaced 79% of the virgin polyester used in IKEA textile products with recycled polyester. In volume, this means we converted 130,000 metric tonnes of recycled polyester, and saved 200,000 tonnes of virign polyester. We haven’t reached our 100% goal yet, but we have come far and overcome many obstacles on the way. These volumes make us a leader in converting to recycled polyester and we hope that our decisions can inspire and motivate whole industries to change.

Responsible sourcing

At IKEA, we demand that all recycled polyester used in IKEA products shall come from recyclers that are compliant with the Global Recycled Standard and traceability is secured to the IKEA product through requirements toward the IKEA Suppliers. By only using recycled polyester that meets the Global Recycled Standards we manage to secure social, environmental and chemical practices at the recycler’s production. We believe that the GRS standard is the best standard on the market today. We work with our partners and textile organisations such as Textile Exchange to further improve standards on recycled materials, including traceability of material beyond the recycling units.
