Who thought the beeping when you turn it was a good idea?IriaFrom a design perspective it contains one of the most baffling decisions I've ever encountered. The concept is actually great: when you turn the clock, it changes function and lights up. It's intuitive, tactile, and honestly quite cool. Unfortunately, every single time you do this, the clock emits a loud, sharp beep that sounds like it was specifically designed to wake up anyone within a 10-meter radius. The truly insane part is that this sound cannot be disabled. Think about that for a second. This is an alarm clock. A device whose natural habitat is a bedroom full of sleeping people. Yet simply interacting with it at night, checking the time, changing a setting, or turning it over, produces a noise guaranteed to wake either you or anyone unlucky enough to share the room with you. Who thought this was a good idea? More importantly, who approved it? 1
Does what it says and is very annoying doing itLarryThis clock has useful functions, an interesting way to access them (turn it onto a different side) and is inexpensive. However, as others have noted, the beep for every function, that cannot be turned off, is annoying and may disturb someone sleeping. And the light would be much more useful and user-friendly, if it could be turned on with a switch, rahter than only by having to turn the clock on a side, activating the beep, at the same time.2
