Midsommar

We're celebrating the arrival of summer

Happy Midsommar! Flowers on your head, strawberries on your plate, and sunshine all around.

In Sweden, when the sun shines brighter than ever, it’s time to celebrate one of their favorite holidays: Midsommar. It’s as important as Christmas, but it’s celebrated outdoors, with flower crowns, circle dances, and lots of delicious food.

It takes place between June 20th and 25th, right when the day is longest. Families and friends gather in parks, gardens, or summer houses, pick flowers and leaves, and decorate a tall wooden pole called the Midsommarstång. Around it… the party begins!

And the food? A real feast. Pickled herring, new potatoes, crispbread, and strawberries with cream. Because at Midsommar, you eat well, sing loudly, and dance non-stop.

Let the garden party begin!

In Sweden, we celebrate Midsommar with food, decorations, and fun. If you prefer, you can also call it "a garden party." Invite your friends, family, and neighbors, and bring out the big table. The lemonade stand is ready. And you — still hanging back?
