IKEA Home Life Monitor

Our home is more than just the place where we live. For many, it is a place where they can come home to, feel at ease and be completely themselves.

The IKEA Home Life Monitor examines how people in Switzerland live at home: how do they organise their daily lives, what habits and needs shape their homes and what helps them feel at home there?

This representative study has been published annually since 2025, with a new thematic focus each year. It is carried out on behalf of IKEA by the independent research institute Sotomo. The IKEA Home Life Monitor examines life at home from various perspectives, providing an increasingly comprehensive picture of how people in Switzerland live and organise their homes over the years.

How people in Switzerland live and keep their homes organised

For many people in Switzerland, tidiness is an integral part of feeling at home. At the same time, it manifests itself in very different ways in everyday life – in our rituals, our expectations, how we handle our belongings and how we live together.
