Sturdy (yes please read my review) and good looking lamp!TapanI contemplated buying this lamp as a lot of reviews pointed out the base detaching from the arm. I can confirm, this is not the case with me. Maybe IKEA revised the product? Maybe reviewers didn't follow the instructions properly? But make sure to twist to lock the arm to the base. You will hear a soft click once it's locked in place. I have lifted the lamp multiple times and it stays secure without coming apart. The whole install took about 2 minutes.
The lamp is great and the entire arm offers multiple points of adjustments. I use mine as a reading lamp. It has a modern yet minimal appearance which doesn't dominate the room.
I wish the power button (back of the bulb assembly) was a toggle switch somewhere in the middle of the arm. This would prevent you from reaching the top of the lamp if it's fully extended. Besides this, great value and a great product from IKEA.5
Comes apartToddThe base is not attached to the arm. Everytime the lamp is lifted, even just barely off the floor, to be moved it detaches from the base. 2

Not SturdyAnonymous reviewerExtremely wobbly and hard to turn off. Not well made.1
Nice clean design howeverSusanThe price was right - on sale - and the design is nice. However, as many have said, the base doesn’t seem very stable if you move the lamp around it is easy for it to become unattached. Not sure what the two joint knobs do. Do they tighten or loosen? And the cord coming all the way up to the second joint isn’t too pretty too bad it couldn’t have been threaded through the pole. And as Daisy complained - yes, there is an off on switch - it’s the top of the lamp, see p11 of instructions - so no need to plug and unplug it every time. LOL!4
Why a lamp without an on-off switch??? Ikea design department definitely need improve this products !!DaisyThis is a nice lamp i like it very much so I bought it, but after I receive it, it is like a nightmare that as it does not have an on-off switch at all !!!!! That is unbelievable !!! So every time, when you need to turn it on, you need to plug into wall socket, and when you need to turn it off, you need to unplug from the wall socket......very inconvenient!!! I wish I could return this products !!!1
Not user friendly RoxyI rarely find the need to review an item but I must this time. This lamp. Is impossible to turn off and on unless you firmly grab the arm or the lamp falls over. No lamp should be a two handed on/off job. The base is also poorly made and the bar doesn’t screw in. You cannot lift the lamp to move or risk the base falling out. The light bulb, as other have mentioned is also a nightmare to insert. 3 strikes against this poorly made product.1
NymaneClaraThis was the 2nd time I tried this light. Installing the light bulb was not fun. I had to pry the metal brackets so the pronged light bulb could stay put. 3
The base is off and not able to install backRonThe base is off and not able to install back after one year use. Not a good use experience2
Not dimmable, bad bulb selectionStephenOverall a great lamp, with one flaw: it's not dimmable (other lamps in this series are), and IKEA's least powerful GU10 bulb is 380 lumens which even in a warm 2700K colour lights up a book like the surface of the sun.
I don't actually care that the lamp isn't dimmable, but the lack of bulb selection makes it a problem.
If you're planning to use this for something other than reading in a dim room, it's probably fine.3
Designer floor lamp recommended by architectsAlexanderI found this amazing floor lamp on an architect's YouTube channel. It has a designer look and is well made overall. I have three small quibbles or I would gave given it a 5: (1) the tiny screw that holds the middle part in place tends to loosen, so if you pick it up by the middle piece it can detach. (2) I really would have liked the somewhat exotic lamp to be included, and its a bit tricky to insert and tighten; (3) the lamp is dimmable, but the fixture itself is not. Apparently this config is not recommended, as it can produce buzzing, although I've had no problem; (4) I really like the braided cord, but would have preferred the on/off switch to be on the cord instead of on the top.4
Nice but base comes offMercedesIt is a nice lamp with a minimalist design. The head and arm have a wide range of movement for adjusting, which is a plus. However, the bottom part of the arm doesn't stay in place when adjusting it to the base, so it often comes off if the lamp has to be moved. In my opinion, a design error that can be very inconvenient.4
Lamp reviewDavidI do like this lamp and the switch is fairly easy to use. I am knocking a star off because of how the pole connects to the bse as I might come off easily when moving the lamp around. I would have preferred the base screwed into the post. Also the GU10 bulb is a little tricky to install but with an LED bulb will only have to do this one time.4
Perfect lightSheriVery unobtrusive lamp. Easy to adjust and bulb is very bright!5

Cute lampAnonymous reviewerLamp is cute, easy to assemble & fit perfectly in our space.5
Works great.AndrewBought it so it can be used in the spare bedroom. There is a desk and a bed. It is poseable can switch betweb the two. Looks simple and clean and works great. The bulb is a little hard to get it but after a minute or so it of fiddling got it in.5
Surprisedly looks better in theLindaSurprisedly looks better in the room.5
Not easy to useAllaThe lamp is not easy to maneuver (to lower or turn the lamp part) because when you do that, the bottom part becomes unscrewed. And in order to turn it off, there’s a button at the back of the lamp that’s not easy to click. Overall, not a pleasant experience to use this lamp.1
