Good and badRobWe have the Nymane floor lamp and love the design. I needed to replace my 15yr old Ikea desk lamp and the Nymane work lamp seemed like a good option, despite the bad reviews about the unreliable wireless charging. I plugged my new lamp in yesterday and the wireless charging failed right out of the box! I can't be bothered driving across the city to replace it with another unreliable unit, so I guess I'm stuck with a good lamp that is already grossly overpriced for what it does. Come on Ikea, you can do better! Drop the wireless function, and sell this great lamp for half the current price.
Wireless Charging FailsWarrenLamp is totally fine, in fact it's great. However, my wireless charging failed. My phone charges for 5 seconds and then stops, even without a case. Bought this lamp June 28, 2024 so I am passed the 180 day window. When I called IKEA they said there is nothing we can do. Very dissappointed this this result since the product is marketed as a "lamp with wireless charging" ... except it doesn't have wireless charging. I would like IKEA to come up with a solution for folks who are beyond the 180 days from date of purchase to make a claim to get a refund for this lamp since what was advertised is not what was sold.
Hej - Nice 1.0 product, could be improved.ChristopherGreat lamp, but could use a few improvements that I'd happily pay for: 1) Touch on/off (with dimmer), the physical large button on the top of the lamp is less than desirable and requires enough pressure to cause the lamp to tilt or the tension joints to move (design flaw) - moving to a touch based interface would solve this. Adding dimming possibility too would make this lamp more desirable as well. 2) Increase the output wattage of the USB-C port, 17w is fairly old given the device range this lamp could support. 3) Free Palestine.
Great Lamp but Magnetic Charger Does Not WorkKyleThe lamp is great, but if you are buying this for the magnetic charger, my experience has been a disappointment. Multiple phones will start charging but stop after 2 seconds.
Wrong light bulbAnonymous reviewerSo the Website clearly mentions that it works with Solhetta Led bulb. I ordered the bulb and the lamp, and surprise! The lamp does not even fit the light bulb. Wrong one. Is it a marketing stuff? Because to return it, i have to go to the store, which I can 't. So now I am left with figuring out what bulb to use, and an exta one i can not return.
Apparently, I am not the only one, seeing orher reviews. Could you please let us know what bulb this lamp needs?
Don’t forget to buy the bulbKarenI LOVE this lamp so much. Had an earlier version of it that had a built in LED so I was pleased that this one gives the option to replace a bulb - just remember to order the bulb at the same. Otherwise - LOVE it.
Little details disappointMichelThe lamp features themselves are perfect for a night table, but the details disappoint.
The switch for the lamp is in the head, which requires 2 hands, one to hold the head while you press with the other to turn on/off the lamp. A simple touch switch or physical switch would be better.
The base wireless charger is VERY finicky which means that if you put your phone to charge, then turn off the lamp you will most like jostle the phone just enough that it will stop charging.
And while there is a USB-C port with USB-Adapter, you still need to get a standard iPhone/Android charging cable to reliably charge your phone.

Solid, reliableLiseSo far so good! Turns out my phone is not compatible with the wireless charger, but I'm glad there's a USB port I can use instead. The lamp has a solid base, gives a good amount of light and is easy to adjust.
Nymane lampSueWe bought this lamp a few weeks ago but when we got it home we discovered it didn’t come with a light bulb. We tried finding one in our town but we’re told they can only be found at Ikea. So we have not tried it out yet as we live outside of Ottawa and haven’t had a chance to get back to the store. I think all lamps at IKEA should be labelled about no light bulbs so people will know to pick some up before they leave the store. We look forward to trying it out in our new home office soon.

Nymane Work Lamp - bulb base typeWilliamBought the Nymane floor lamp for daughter's bedroom with GU-10 base LED lamps.

When we ordered 32 units of the Nymane Work Lamp for my corporate workplace, we found after that they only came with E17 LED lamps - which are now being discontinued. Does that mean that our lamps, which we have just lamped with bulbs, are going to be redundant? If the lamps (bulbs) are being discontinued and Philips doesn't seem to make this lamp (bulb) base, where are we to get the replacement lamps (bulbs)? Ikea, this looks like design for obsolescence which doesn't fit with your sustainable initiatives. How are you going to make this right?
