Not very comfortable :/ DaisyI’ve had this couch for almost a year now and was really hoping it would soften over time, but unfortunately it hasn’t at all. I was so excited to purchase it because many of my friends have the same couch and theirs are incredibly comfortable — the cushions are perfectly squishy and the fabric feels soft and cozy. Sadly, that wasn’t my experience. The cushions on ours feel stiff and springy, and it’s not comfortable to sit on for long periods. I’ve always loved IKEA, but this purchase was really disappointing. I hesitated on returning this in hopes that it just needed some time to break in, however it’s the same as when we first received it.

In about 2 months it looked 10 years old. Great color, terrible quality. We have to now purchase a new cover, which increases the cost of the sofa, EPSECIALLY because we do not have an Ikea on the island where we live. Shipping is expensive.
I wish Ikea would be able to send us a new cover but I have not asked.
I have tried using a fabric shaver recently but it is so bad, you can not tell. The pulls/pills are wild. Especially considering we do not sit on the couch as much as maybe a normal family would. Whatever that means.
Amazing couchMariaI used to have the same couch in gray, and loved it. Bought it again in a lighter color, and could not be happier. It even works as an emergency single bed when having friends over for a night or two. Would definitely recommend, cheap and good looking

Couch is just over 2 years old. The cushions get misshapen and slide off the couch so quickly that it basically never looks good.
Easy to assemble, Fabric not so muchAngelaPutting this couch together was super easy .. having to attempt stretching the fabric over the frame and cushions was a workout in itself. I cant even zip up the cushions you sit on cause it wont fit around. Aside from that, absolutely love this couch .. fabric just needs a bit more give. Based on fabric alone is the only reason why I wont give it a five star.

Comfortable & easy assemblyAshleyThe couch was simple enough to assemble on my own in about 30 minutes, the cushions are comfortable and getting softer with more use. The low arm rests make it perfect for guests to sleep on, since it is longer than the average couch.

Ok for priceAlanaI bought this 3 seater kivik with the hillared anthracite cover about 2-2.5 years ago. I think the quality is ok for the price but the one thing that drives me crazy is the back support pillows sliding down behind the seat cushions when I lean against them. I also wish the back support pillows were firmer, as they are starting to become softer than I would like. I recommend reading the assembly instructions before you purchase - you do have to build the whole base and attach the covers, so just be aware it’s a bit of a project.
I wouldn’t buy it again JoshuaThe Kivik in the showroom is not the same one you’ll receive. Whatever I bought is very firm, not medium firm. Nothing like the comfortable sofa at the store. This thing is a rock.
The cushions make a crumpling sound and feeling when you sit on it. Cover arrived torn and a couple frayed spots.
There’s no way this is a practical washable cover. It’s not a slip cover like the UPPLAND. You have to remove the arms and undo so much Velcro, it would take forever. The covers barely fit the super firm cushions as
it is, any shrinking and you’d be hooped.
Pretty disappointed honestly. I bought the sofa and loveseat. I should’ve got something else. I did get a small credit for the torn seat cushion but there’s quite a bit of false advertising going on here. Maybe it has to do with the “new lower price”. Listen to the negative reviews because there are a lot of them and they are recent.
Not good for your backAnsarI have had this couch for more than a year and the backrest is constantly slouching, which means we have to keep adjusting it many times. Even then it does not keep its shape. My back hurts after sitting in the couch for more than a year. Very disappointed.
The price is right, the quality is surely not. ChrisThe couch is reasonably comfortable, especially for the price. The quality, however, is a real disappointment. The slip covers are borderline garbage, they're one (small) step above Metro/Dollarama reusable bags in terms of fabric quality. The old slipcovers were piped around the borders to ensure they last, these are heat pressed. The covers are like cheap fabric bags that companies ship electronics in. I am truly disappointed in how much of a downgrade this is from the prior KIVIK couches. Will not buy again. I would also add, if you have pets, especially cats, NONE of the IKEA fabrics will hold up, they are just too thin and poorly made. On top of that, the inability to flip the cushions makes this even harder to swallow. If this couch lasts a year, I will be genuinely surprised. IKEA may be cutting their prices, but the quality mirrors that. Terrible.
