Can I make a purchase under my tax-exempt status?

A customer is eligible for Sales Tax Exemption under the Indian Act, RSC 1985, c I-5d.

To claim Tax Exemption, IKEA needs to ensure that you meet the following qualifications:

1. You have a valid Certificate of Indian Status card or a Temporary Confirmation of Registration document.

2. The name of the cardholder on the credit card used to purchase the IKEA product(s) matches exactly the name of the status card holder.

3. The purchased IKEA product(s) are shipped to a First Nation Reserve.

4. All Federal and Provincial tax exemption requirements are adhered to.

What does the customer need to do:

1. You must first pay for the order including taxes.

2. You must then call IKEA's Customer Support at 1-866-866-IKEA (4532) with the receipt information.

3. You can also send the form to us via our secured fax line at 1-877-904-0850 (toll-free within Canada) or 1-514-904-2382 (outside of Canada).

4. Once the form is received and verified by IKEA, you will receive the refund back to the original method of payment within 5-7 business days.
