Broke after 4 yearsSusan K.Loved this lamp until the pull string broke off deep inside the metal housing. On and off once a day for about 4 years. Could not be disassembled to fix it. If you own a pull chain lamp from IKEA, figure out how to turn it on without using the pullcord. Maybe the wall switch, or a surge protector instead. Very disappointed.2

Great basic lampkristiThis was a great lamp, especially for the price. I was trying to decide whether a floor lamp would work in my living room and didn’t want to spends $1000’s on a lamp that didn’t work - I bought this as a test for size and location and figured I’d give it to my kids once I bought a new one. I like it so much I haven’t replaced it yet!5

Easy AssemblySandy320We bought one lamp for the living room and liked it so well that we bought another. The lamp height is adjustable so it's perfect for hand sewing or reading in the recliner. This lamp comes with a light bulb (which is a plus!), but I swapped it out for a brighter bulb (the bulb requirements are on the lamp). Assembly is quick and simple. I'll definitely go to IKEA the next time we need another lamp.5
High quality hardware, sleek lookPuddleduckI bought this lamp about 5 months ago and it looks really sharp in my living room! The hardware is very well made - brushed nickel finish, cool shape of the weighted base, and both the pull chain and grip of the adjustable neck have a knurling finish. (Google it - textured grip on metal.) The lampshade is also a nice color - white with a hint of grey. I use the 11w 1000 lumen Ikea LED bulb and it gives a nice glow. I can't see why a couple of reviews have just 1 star because they don't give reasons. This lamp doesn't feel or look cheap at all. I'm planning to get another one!5

It's easy to put together, stands up perfectly straight-- a problem sometimes with floor lamps that tilt, and the pull cord is particularly nice. Extremely dissatisfied.ikea expertI gave away the predecessor to this lamp when I moved earlier this year - big mistake. After moving, I decided to buy a new one to replace it but this is a very low quality version of what I had before. I have been shopping at IKEA for over 20 years but since 2016 the quality has been seriously declining and prices have gone up. All the lighting products are flimsy, and pose a potential electrical safety hazard as a result of the bad quality (more cheap Chinese manufactured rubbish). I recommend shopping at yard sales for IKEA products that are pre 2016 now - especially for furniture and lighting.1
