Striking lamp!KatieSuch a striking lamp! We really like it and it goes so well with our bamboo nightstands. It works well and really is a statement piece in our bedroom.
Accent light+, not for general lightingKevinThe strength of this lamp is its appealing design. It looks as good in person as in pictures. But it's just not very bright. As long as you do not rely on it for general lighting in the room, it will add character to your room.
The main drawback of this lamp is its brightness. This lamp uses GU10 LED light bulbs, and that's a constraint. These are the light bulbs for track lighting. The recommended light bulb, at 380 lumens, is quite dark, and is suited for accent lighting only. GU10 bulbs go up to around 800 lumens, and you can find them if you shop outside of Ikea. At that strength, the lamp is still not very good for general lighting. Another constraint is that the light bulb is positioned low in the lamp, and it points up. While that creates a beautiful pattern on the walls and on the ceiling, it sacrifices some of the light.
Some reviewers complain about the glare through the gaps in the bamboo "shade." I personally do not find it a problem even with an 800 lumen light bulb.
Great lightTerryI purchased this light for my back door as a entry light. It's on one side of door and it's perfect as it gives beautiful light when you enter. Great buy !
A beautiful statementAoleonI bought this light to give dimension to a dark color near my tv console. It is a shorter light but I think that adds to its unique appeal. I decided to use a warmer GU 10 light around 2100k and I think the color temperature really brings out the warmth in the bamboo. This lamp for me really does look its best around twilight and the nighttime and during the day it’s add a nice sculptural touch. I think this could be a future IKEA classic.
