Because the shelves are not too wide, I don't have to worry about deflection and the assembly was a snap after the first one. Follow the picture directions, get some shims to level correctly, a stud finder to fasten to the wall securely and some screws to gang the cases together and the install looks great. It is not at the level of custom millwork, but close enough for this application.5

Perfect as alwaysDanaWe purchased multiple Billy bookcases - enough to cover a whole wall in our house. None were damaged or missing pieces, and I was able to assemble them all in an afternoon. We live 3 hours from IKEA but the trip is always worth it.5

Perfect Solution!AnonymousI knew the Billy bookcases we purchased were ideal for displaying our glass collectibles. We installed puck lights and had our local glass company cut glass shelves (utilizing the clips that came with the wooden shelves provided). We also updated the hardware, as many customers recommended in the reviews. Well the bookcases look amazing and we are going to purchase two additional bookcases. I also recommend you use the Click and Collect feature on Ikea's website. When we arrived at Ikea, all the boxes were on a cart waiting for pickup! We were in and out in less than 10 minutes.5

Exactly what I needed!AnonymousMy room called for book cases of this width. I added doors and it worked out perfect. Exactly how I wanted. Not sure why people couldn't tie them together. You just used the included woodscrew and go through one of the shelf holes you weren't using. It worked great. Mine are all aligned perfectly with their doors and look fantastic.5
Three Separate bookshelvesAnonymousThe description of this “bookshelf”’is completely false. It’s actually three towers with no way of attaching them to each other. They’re very tall so unless they get anchored together and to a wall they will fall over easily. I wanted a one piece unit for my store. Not three towers.1
