Nice shelf. But not as versatile or robust as it could beGabeIt's not an 8' shelf. It's a 7' shelf with a extention. This is important as it severely inhibits the flexibility of arranging the shelves to maximize space. Also, the shelf supports are so tiny that they immediately tear into the wood and droop. They are a very small diameter the doesn't provide much strength at all. Fine if you are putting stuffed animals, but not so good for books.
The price is reasonable and the overall quality is decent, but it is a very basic shelf. And the tiny proprietary shelf supports make it subpar as an actual "bookcase"...
In Almost Every RoomMaryWe have different set-ups of the Billy bookcase in 5 different rooms. They're classic looking; no frills & fussy cut-outs, they let the items displayed be the focus. I have dressed them up with crystal/gold knobs & they look amazing.
New Billy 1/2 size bookcaseDonnaI originally bought 3 Billy bookcases to create my home library. After assembly it was clear that I had enough space leftover to add this half- sized Billy. It fits perfectly into my space as a beautiful addition to my other 3. It’s sturdy and has well made parts. It’s Easy to assemble. I don’t see any loss of quality from the old style to the new.

Bad design SydneyPaper covering was already peeling off in the same spot of all bookcases when taken out of the box. Paper seem is right where books slide out so will no doubt get worse quickly. Horrible change to the Billy bookcases.
I don't understand why it has this name. Perhaps: Complete Bookcase; Essential Bookcase; All You Need Bookcase; or Wally! JennieI used the top two pieces as a shorter bookcase to the side. If it was placed on the top as it should, the height would be too far up the wall. It serves as a perfect shrine to the greatest musician ever: John Lennon.

Would order again KimGreat product, easy to assemble, only drawback was the walnut was darker/more brown than pictured in the preview/sample photo.
