Worth the priceAlejandroGot this bookcase for my videogame collection and it works great.
works greatStephannie Johnmy husband said these were easy to assemble, they look great in my library. I do find that I have a hard time adjusting the shelves myself, so I do have to have him help me. That is mainly for my block sets to fit as a display. However, that moves the shelves around for more books. I do wish that the local store stocked them and I didn't have to have them shipped in.
Good Value and a Good SolutionSusanWe recently moved from a house that had a large custom bookcase covering an entire wall of the living room. And we still didn’t have enough space for our ridiculously large collection. What with moving and closing costs etc, we didn’t have enough left over to have custom work done, so we bought a few of these Billies for the family room to supplement the small existing built-ins in our new living room. I wouldn’t call assembly “easy” but once we figured it out, the rest went smoothly. They look great. Especially glad there are several matching configurations to fit our space. Our books are happy and so are we.
Discontinuing Birch color?ThereseI have the tall Billy bookcases in birch and love them. I got a few low bookcases to add to the same room and the color was much lighter and not as warm. I thought I would try to reorder to hopefully get a better color match and it looks like the birch is now being discontinued. I can still get the low cabinets, but not the doors. Can still get the tall doors, but not the cabinets. Please bring back the birch color! It is so lovely and the only light wood offering available in the Billy and Oxberg lines.

Disappointed – Poor QualityJoseI just bought this, and by the second day, it broke. It can't hold any weight — I only placed a few small books on it, and the shelves gave out. The pins didn’t support the shelves at all. Total waste of money. Very disappointed with the quality.

No the sameAnonymous reviewerI noticed two different Billy bookcases and one was not in stock for white. So I ordered the new version. The quality is somewhat lacking. The back board is not as thick as in the older model and it has some type of tape to reinforce the creases for the backing. The creases are noticeable when assembled. It has texture to it too, not smooth like older model. When assembled its flimsy somehow, not sure if its because the backing is not as supportive as old version. Also, when sliding the backing in place it caves in allot. I also did not like the plastic nails things. I prefer the older version but its too much of a hassle to return. I'll probably cover the backing with some peel and stick wall paper and add some 1x2s to the back for extra support. I would defiantly not recommend the new version and hopefully they bring back the old version of the Billy. That one was perfect.
