Do I need to have the invoice to make a return and how are refunds made?

The original invoice or proof of purchase is required for returns, and refunds can be made to the original payment method or to a refund card.

When it comes to an online order, the return will be made to the same payment method used for the purchase.
If you can't find the invoice, but you presented your IKEA Family card at the time of purchase, you can log in to your IKEA Family account and find it in the "Purchase history" tab. If the purchase is not linked to your IKEA Family account, but was made in an IKEA store, a reviewer can try to locate the store's invoice, as long as it has the following information:
  • Date of purchase
  • Store where you made the purchase
  • Exact transaction amount
  • Last 4 digits of the card used
Note: If you used a digital wallet, such as Apple Pay, Google Wallet, or Samsung Pay, the last four digits of the card may be different from the physical one.
The refund will be processed within a maximum of 14 days. In your "Purchase history", you can check the status of the refund.
If you still haven't received your refund after this time, type "speak to an agent" in the chat. A Customer Support co-worker will help you.
