What is IKEA’s return policy?

Your satisfaction with your IKEA purchase is important to us. If you are not completely happy or simply changed your mind, you can return your products within 365 days. IKEA will provide a full refund for items returned with proof of purchase during this period.

 

If you wish to exchange an item, you must first return it and then make a new purchase.

You can return or exchange all IKEA products, except for:

  • Items that are dirty, stained, damaged, or modified (e.g., drilled, painted, or with removed parts);
  • Custom-made and/or made-to-measure products (such as stone countertops);
  • Made-to-order sofa covers (with specific cancellation conditions);
  • Mattresses that are not in their original sale condition (a specific mattress exchange policy applies);
  • Gift cards;
  • Unpackaged food products.

Important notes:

  • The assessment of the product’s condition and any damage is carried out exclusively by IKEA Portugal.
  • Refunds will be issued using the same payment method as the original purchase, unless the product shows signs of use—in which case, the refund will be issued via a return card.
  • If more than 365 days have passed since the purchase and the product is still in a resellable condition, you may use the “2nd life” service.
  • IKEA also offers a free spare parts service to help extend the life of your products.
