What are the properties of Persian and Oriental carpets?

The carpets are made of real wool. Because of this, the carpet can have a certain smell, loose threads or small differences in colour. This is normal and will get better with time.

Why does my carpet have a strange smell?
Do not worry, this will disappear with time. It is caused by lanolin; the fat that is present in sheep wool. This smell will disappear, and the carpet will take on the smell of its surroundings.

Why are there ‘loose threads’ in my carpet?
With a carpet made of hand-spun wool, it can occur that small threads come loose. This not a quality-related issue, but a property of wool. This will disappear with time.

Why are there small holes in my carpet?
In hand-made carpets, small holes can be seen sometimes. This is caused by the way the carpets are made, between different colours a small opening can occur. This is not a quality-related issue, but a property of hand-made carpets.

Why are there colour differences in my carpet?
Since the colours are mixed by hand, they can slightly differ sometimes. Colour differences can also occur after some time. This is also a property of hand-made carpets and is not a quality-related issue.
