Beware of phishing

Criminals may try to misuse your personal data. It is therefore important to remain extra vigilant, especially when you receive an unexpected message, email, WhatsApp message, SMS, or phone call asking for your personal data or a payment.

  • The information below can help you identify a phishing email:
  • We recommend that you always check the sender of the email. You can recognize official emails from IKEA by the sender with the email address @ IKEA, @ IKEA, or other email domains ending in IKEA or IKEA. Email addresses are not case-sensitive, so @ikea.com, @ikea.nl, and all senders ending in .ikea.nl or .ikea.com are also safe. 
  • You can check the email address and links in the email yourself. Hover (do not click!) your mouse over the email address and the links in the email.

Does the email address match IKEA's email address or the text in the email? No? Then it is very likely phishing. You can report phishing messages to your own email account or delete them.  

Fake giveaways

There are regularly giveaways circulating via email, Facebook, and SMS that do not originate from IKEA. Often, a makeover, gift certificate, or voucher is offered in these. In these so-called 'phishing campaigns,' the name and logo of IKEA are misused to collect personal data or to steal your money.

• IKEA does not use SMS or WhatsApp for giveaways.
