Equality, diversity and inclusion turn our workplace into a home
At IKEA, you're welcome no matter where you come from, what you believe in, what you look like or who you like to snuggle up with in front of the TV. We don't even care how you organise your kitchen cupboards. We like you simply because you are you and we want you to feel at home at IKEA – because everyone deserves a true home where they can feel free, be themselves and feel safe.

Diversity is good for everyone
Embracing differences is not only good for you, it's good for IKEA too. We've learned that diverse teams have more and better ideas and help us better understand and support the people who buy from us. They also help us grow as an organisation. After all, everyone has a different way of looking at the world. Who knows? Perhaps your unique vision of something could lead to a great idea that contributes to making life a little better for customers and co-workers at home.

An inclusive workplace is a better workplace
We don't want people who work for IKEA to just get through the day – we want you to thrive, and that's only possible if you feel confident and can fully be yourself. And once you join us, we want you to stay, because we plan to achieve great things with you.
Some steps we've taken to achieve this
- We have signed the sectoral agreement for the implementation of measures for equality and non- discrimination of LGBTI+ people.
- We've joined the FELGTBI+ Yes We Trans programme to promote the inclusion of trans people in the workforce.
- We have a global LGBTIQ+ inclusion plan to ensure that IKEA is an inclusive workplace and welcoming environment for people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
- We train teams on inclusion and unconscious bias towards the LGBTIQ+ community. We are members of the Workplace Pride Foundation and Stonewall, two organisations dedicated to LGBTIQ+ inclusion in the workplace.
- We have jointly created and signed up to the UN Standards of Conduct for Business to combat discrimination against LGBTIQ+ people in the workplace and in the community.
- We also belong to Open For Business, a coalition of companies that promotes LGBTIQ+ inclusion in global society.

Support LGBTIQ+ people with STORSTOMMA
We know we still have a long way to go. That's why the profits from STORSTOMMA bag sales from 28 June to 4 July will go entirely to the FELGTBI+ Yes We Trans project.

What's your next job? Be yourself.
When you come and work for us, we want you to bring your whole self: the bits you’re proud of, the messy and complicated bits, and the bits that haven’t yet had a chance to shine. For us, your uniqueness is an asset. At IKEA, everyone has a home.
