Even with just one curtain or a blind you can still get the look you like, and practical benefits like privacy, too. A good tip in a small room is to go for a blind instead of a long curtain. A blind makes your wall look less crowded than a curtain hanging all the way down to the floor.

Want a quieter home?

A lot of things like curtains, rugs, cushions, beds and other furniture, absorb sound. The effect increases when they are spread throughout the room. Curtains capture sound better when they have folds in them. It’s also best if you hang them at least 9 cm from the wall. Thicker curtains and more layers can help, too.

Not too hot, not too cold

Curtains and blinds can help your home stay at a comfortable temperature. Thicker curtains keep out chilly draughts and the sun’s hot rays. Having different layers in your windows will also help insulate your home against winter cold and summer heat. And cellular blinds have a honeycomb structure that traps air inside them. Two ways to coordinate

Safer without cords

Exposed cords hanging down in a window can be a hazard to children. So IKEA curtains and blinds don’t have any. They’re still easy to use, though. Our blinds, for example, have a plastic tab you pull instead.
