How to improve your well-being at home using plants
Having plants in our homes not only makes us feel good, it can also be genuinely healthy (read on to find out more). Discover how to improve your well-being at home using plants and follow these tips to decorate your rooms with lots of green!
Create your own green space
The colour green makes us feel good. Even science and neuroarchitecture agree with that. It’s what experts call the “biophilia hypothesis”. A few plants or other natural elements, like wooden furniture or floors that are reminiscent of nature, can be enough to create a home that promotes our well-being. Our recipe for a personal well-being space: put your favourite chair next to a window, fill the space with plants, add a lamp and a side table and round it off with some soft fabrics.
Decorate your bedroom with plants
Plants make excellent roommates. They help refresh and purify the air and brighten the view when we’re waking up and stretching. You may have heard having plants in your bedroom isn’t recommended because they steal oxygen during the night but, in reality, science doesn’t support this myth. Plants require very little oxygen at night and, if this were true, what would happen when you share a room with another person? You can decorate your bedroom with plants without any worries because, as well as bringing life and colour to our homes, they also help us relax and improve our well-being!
Liven up your corners
There are always corners in the home that we could pay a bit more attention to. A table, bench or shelf full of plants can easily become the centre of attention in a room, even if space is limited. For greater effect, add a floor or table lamp with a bright light.
Here are some interior design guidelines that can help you improve your well-being at home!

Create a vertical garden
Sunlight and sun exposure can be very limited in the home, especially in places like the living room, bathroom or kitchen. Where there’s sunlight, distribute the space vertically. Try placing a shelf in the entrance hall, hallway or anywhere that you have a window to place some plants up high and have your own vertical garden!
A garden in a jar
Making a greenhouse doesn’t have to be difficult. It can even be the opposite. Put plants in jars to create eye-catching decorative arrangements. (Don’t forget to give them some air from time to time). Choose a succulent plant that doesn’t need much care!
