Christmas at home: Seven must-have Christmas decorations

While we usually spend a lot of time at home with the family during the Christmas season, this year, due to the circumstances, we will most likely do so even more. That's why we've come up with a selection of decorations to fill your home with festive spirit and help you enjoy a wonderful Christmas at home. And at a very affordable price!

This year, we've all realised that life can change drastically in a short period of time. That's why it's worth taking advantage of any celebration to enjoy time with our family, despite the circumstances, and even if it has to be at home. So, this Christmas, we encourage you to bring joy into your home with the must-have Christmas decorations we're about to show you. And the best thing about them? We have options for all budgets. Let's go!

1. The Christmas tree and its ornaments

If there's one must-have decoration that tops the list in most homes during the holiday season, it's the Christmas tree. We have every size and shape imaginable, but if you're looking for an affordable option that doesn't take up much space or require too many ornaments, we recommend opting for a smaller one. The one in the photo measures 19 cm, is made of plastic from at least 30% renewable sources and has a beautiful jute detail that adorns the pot and creates a much cosier effect. Although it's small, we have placed it on top of a wooden piece of furniture to create more of an impact.

You can easily decorate it with just a few ornaments. We've opted for red, gold and green baubles and, as a final detail, we placed a Santa figurine underneath it. What do you think of the end result?

2. Figurines to create a cosy Christmas corner

Although it is the undisputed star of Christmas decor, the tree is not the only decoration out there. So, if you want to spread holiday cheer to other areas of the home, you can create beautiful corners like the one you see in the photo by just combining two or three elements. They will look great in both the hallway and the living room, or even in the bedroom. And the cost will be minimal.

In our case, we've chosen a red lantern from our VINTER collection with an aromatic candle in the same colour. Next to it, we've placed a little dish with two Christmas figurines and a small white candle holder with another red candle. As you can see, it's very simple and fairly affordable but it doesn't feel like the arrangement was just thrown together.

3. Christmas candles for a cosier home

Continuing along this line, we recommend using candles for your home decor this Christmas. They are ideal for a warmer, more homely touch, and as we are going to be spending a lot of time at home, they will help us feel much more at ease.

Although any type of candle will work, we opted for those from our Christmas collection to create an even more festive atmosphere in the various rooms of the house. We've placed them on some simple glass holders that, thanks to their neutral style, pair perfectly with different candle designs.

4. Tableware for a casual Christmas celebration

It's time to talk about table decor for lunch and dinner – one of the most important parts of Christmas. For these occasions, we usually focus on the big dates marked on the calendar, like Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, but the fact is that during the holidays, there are many other celebrations that happen around the table

That's why, on this occasion, we chose more casual tableware with a Christmas touch, perfect for a small spread at the start of the holiday, a coffee with Christmas sweets or celebrating Secret Santa. A collection of dishes and bowls in white and maroon, paired with the bottle and biscuit tin featuring Christmas motifs, create the perfect combination. The best thing about this tableware is that once the parties are over, you can continue to use it. This way, you have affordable and versatile tableware to use for the rest of the year.

5. And to add a touch of Christmas to your daily meals

Since we'll be spending a lot of time at home, why not add some Christmas cheer to your daily meals, too? As we said at the beginning, there's no need for a special occasion to celebrate. Now, more than ever, we should savour the little moments.

For this, the tableware from the previous point is perfect, as it works for any meal of the day, such as breakfast. But to give everything a more festive feel, we've chosen this beautiful and affordable little Santa Claus tray, which will help bring food from one place to another with the Christmas spirit ever present.

6. A wreath for the most special occasions

We haven't forgotten the more special occasions on the calendar. Here's a decoration that you can use in different ways that will add a touch of elegance wherever you place it.

This artificial Christmas wreath is ideal for those looking for a simpler, nature-inspired Christmas decoration. In the photo, you can see one of the many ways to display it: hung with twine above the dining room table.

Or even placed directly on the table, as the centrepiece. As you can see, in this case, we've paired it with a table featuring predominantly white tones, so the wreath from our VINTER 2020 collection stands out and is the only element adding a Christmas touch. However, you can also combine it with more colourful tablecloths and tableware. It all depends on the effect that you are looking for!

7. Garlands for natural Christmas decor

Finally, and keeping with the simple and natural theme of the wreath, we suggest this beautiful garland to decorate your home. Unlike the typical, colourful tinsel, this will add some very subtle Christmas spirit to your home. So, if you're a fan of neutral, simplistic decor, this may be perfect for you. It is very affordable, so you can display several in different areas of the house, such as on the doors and windows.

As you can see, like the wreath, it also works very well as a simple table decoration for your Christmas meals. Just place it along the length of the table and you're ready to go! You can also arrange candles around it to create even more warmth.

Which of these must-have Christmas decorations works best in your house? Whichever it may be, we hope you have a great Christmas at home.
