Inspiration for creating a better home life

Over recent years, many people have successfully transformed their homes into their workspace, trading the office for the living room and meetings for video calls. This is because of remote working, or because of what we'd like to discuss today — entrepreneurship. More and more people are deciding to change up their lives, and if you feel like Luis, lacking the motivation to stay in a job that doesn't bring you joy, we want to show you how easy it is to start up your own business from anywhere in your home.

Firstly, you need motivation and a little bit of inspiration. Get ready to create a better life!

The first step is choosing which space you are going to transform into the business of your dreams. Luis chose his reception area, which you can see in the photo below. It's a space that he was already using as a remote working area, and which has lots of potential, but was underutilised and had elements that were intended to be decorative rather than to serve a purpose. It doesn't matter if a space is wide or narrow; what matters is making the most out of every nook and cranny and planning carefully what you're going to need and how you're going to store it.

Keep your eye on the details

In a tailoring workshop, details are key, whether it's the buttonhole that you're making for a jacket, the selection of the buttons, or the variety of thread colours.

TheMOPPE mini chest of drawers is an item that is timeless, versatile and very useful when you need to store small objects: buttons, needles, spare bits and bobs, etc.

What's more, if you fancy, you can easily personalise it to your tastes with just a lick of paint or varnish.

Storage is key

Unless your office is across the street, it's normal to spend part of our time commuting daily from home to work and then from work to home. In this sense, working from home or starting your own business will save you time, and money on transport

Our protagonist was exhausted from getting home late, not enjoying time with his children and working specific hours each day. Now he can spend that time on other things like, for example, a leisurely breakfast before starting the day, or spending quality time with family and disconnecting.

Luis put his powers of visualisation to work and with a clear plan of what storage he needed, he was able to create his own tailoring workshop. With some modular metallic shelving, he managed to store rolls of fabric all in one place, magazine files for documentation and baskets for storing scraps.

Create your own style

Working from home offers us the opportunity to improve our well-being through decoration.

Say goodbye to sad, basic furniture and say hello to colour and texture. The possibilities are endless, and you'll be able to combine them based on your taste, needs and whatever brings you the good vibes that you need to face the working day head on.

Luis has combined drawer units and metal shelving in different colours, with generous baskets to store his fabrics and, of course, a desk and chair where metal meets wood, on which he can draw patterns and sew buttons. A combination that truly puts the fun in functional, don't you think?

Let Luis's story inspire you. You've already seen that grey offices can become a thing of the past and that launching a business from any space in your home is easier than you ever imagined. Have fun planning what you're going to need and seeing it come together bit by bit. Need more reasons to take the leap? Maybe one of our chairs will help you make a 180 towards what truly brings you joy.
