Ideas for decorating small hallways

It's a fact. The hallway is the first and last place you see before leaving or when returning home. Perhaps it hasn't been given the importance it deserves. A small hallway can become a very useful and beautiful place, and it's the first impression visitors have when they enter your home, which should not be overlooked.

Not only is the decor important; having a well-organised hallway will save you lots of time wasted looking for things before leaving. Also if you add a mirror and good lighting, you can use it like a "dressing room" to finish getting ready before going out or if the main bathroom is occupied. You know these things happen.

Let's look at some ideas for decorating small, modern and useful hallways.

1. The bench for taking off shoes and storing things

The storage bench will be one of your best allies when decorating small, large and medium-sized hallways. You can't go without one! It's really useful for putting on and taking off shoes, and it makes the most of the space, because you can store whatever you need inside.

2. A rack to hang up your jackets and bags

Racks don't need any formal introduction. They're useful and necessary for having jackets within reach, or even bags and scarves.

The more daring ones might use it to hang athletic shoes. If that's the case, simply use a wall panel or protector to prevent damage and scraping. If you prefer a more classical style, traditional racks follow the order of the day.

3. Lighting and a mirror to see everything right away

While also letting you see how you look before leaving, mirrors are a decorative element that always give a feeling of expansiveness.

They look great both above a cabinet and fastened to the wall. Choosing one will depend on the space you have and how you want to use it.

4. Last but not least, a shoe rack!

If your hallway allows for it, you could put in a shoe rack, large or small, inside or outside your hallway cabinet. The choice is yours.

And remember to always think of hallway furniture as a set. The hallway is a very useful place, but you can also make it special by combining one single style throughout the entire room.
