How to throw an impromptu party with your flatmates

Loungewear and slippers, lots of food, your favourite music (without annoying the neighbours, of course) and, dare we say, your bed to escape to whenever you want, right on the other side of the door! Sounds good, doesn’t it?
We love the outdoors, but we know we can’t always get out as much as we’d like, even if our bodies might be demanding it. No point in being down about it when we can have a good time in our own flat! If there is one thing that marks out humans, it's their ingenuity and creative solutions. And this is no different. Lights to set the mood
The mood in your flat will be essential for connecting with your flatmates.
Soft lighting can add a different, party-like feel to a room, so if you can, try turning off a couple of the lights (just enough so you’re not in the dark – we don’t want any accidents). Add some decorative lighting, like our LED lighting chains, which always look good and can easily be put anywhere, on a shelf, at the bottom of a lamp, on a coat rack, among many other places!

The catering section
Where will the food go? If you’ve got a table, you can easily convert it into a catering area so you don’t have to keep running back and forth to the kitchen. Have you just moved into a new flat and don’t have everything set up yet? Or is your table already being used? Not a problem. We’ve got a solution for everything. An ironing board can double as a perfect table top.
It’s as simple as laying out a couple of placemats so the surface doesn’t get stained if someone spills something (a tray might be more secure for any glasses, bottles or jugs).
Top tip: distribute the weight of drinks and food equally so the ironing board stays balanced. Have it next to a wall where it will be less annoying and less of a trip hazard.
A simple, delicious menu
Don’t make your life difficult by cooking. If the stove is not your friend and you want something quick and easy, there’s nothing like preparing a simple menu with very little cooking and a tasty result. For example, you can prepare some delicious hot dogs, like the ones in these pictures. Just warm up the sausages and serve them in rolls on a tray. It’s a much-loved favourite.
Something for everyone!
Any vegetarians in the room? Don’t forget that there are lots of equally good options. For example, you can switch out the meat hot dogs for some vegetarian sausages. Besides, who doesn’t love a good bowl of nachos with a side of guacamole, or some vegetables with a range of hummus flavours? These are party favourites and everyone will have enough options that they like.
Don’t forget the music
A party without music? Never! Nietzsche said it best: "without music life would be a mistake". And who are we to make that mistake? One flatmate could be in charge of creating a quality playlist filled with current songs or those essential classics. Once it’s been created, you can play it through a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth speaker. Pop it on a shelf or out of the way in a corner where everyone can hear it. Just watch the volume! You’ve got neighbours to get along with.
