Decor in small bathrooms: all you need to know

We spend a lot of our time in the bathroom, and unfortunately, in most cases, it's not as large as we would like. Here are some inspiring ideas for decorating small bathrooms. Making the most of every centimetre in small bathrooms can be done, and you can also make it one of the most functional, practical and beautiful bathrooms in the neighbourhood. Here's how.

Four tricks to making the most of small bathrooms

Though you might not think so, a small bathroom has many possibilities if you know how to make the most of it. Among the small modern bathrooms around, bathroom furniture sets and bathroom storage furniture are crucial

With a few, well-applied ideas, small bathroom decor can achieve wonders in just a few square metres.

1. Exploit the colour white

The golden rule for small bathroom decor: if you want your bathroom to look larger and brighter, the colour white is your best friend.

One trick to stop it appearing too cold is to reduce the nuclear feel with natural, wood-coloured furniture.

2. Play with walls and shelves

Against all the odds, the reduced space of small toilets and bathrooms lets you take risks. Try combining vibrant colours on the walls with shower shelving. Playing with colours may help you to bring that bathroom to life. In this case, the bathroom furniture has a secondary role.

3. A small bathroom doesn't mean that it needs to be underutilised

Use bathroom shelves that help you store all your bathroom products, baskets, small bathroom cabinets... the lot, so that in just a few centimetres, you can spruce things up without being afraid of clashing with anything.

If your bathroom is truly tiny, you can find solutions for having everything in its place, like wall shelves and pegboards where you can hang things. And if you don't want to sacrifice on your style, look for storage baskets that match your taste and colours. Any wall of small bathrooms can be used for storage and decoration.

4. Simple, floating, and with plants too!

The idea is not to saturate the space in small bathrooms, so use shower heads that will help you make the most of the shower space.

Another way to decorate small bathrooms is floating bathroom cabinets. By leaving empty spaces, they bring air to the room and you can even use the space to store other things.

Plants can also find a home in small bathrooms and they look great in any kind of bathroom. Try hanging them or putting them on any ledge where they fit. Oh! And don't forget about bathroom stools and benches for you to sit on while someone is showering and to store towels in the meantime.

That's everything for now. Don't forget that small bathrooms come with another challenge: organisation and order are required for making the most of their limited space.

We love it when customers use our products in a creative way. Why not try to do something new with them yourself? But do remember, any modifications or changes that you make to IKEA products will prevent them from being resold or used for their original use, thus invalidating IKEA product warranties and your right to return.
