The benefits of storing and sorting items in boxes

We've said it before and we'll say it again: a tidy house is a tidy mind. That's why we're bringing you practical tips for storing and sorting all those tiny things that get lost around the house because you don't know where to keep them.

If there's one thing we can all agree on, it's that we have too much stuff. All those things kept loose in cupboards and drawers drive us mad day in and day out. The solution? Boxes and time. It's that simple.

No more excuses! Find the best box for all your things and finally take care of those tasks that always get pushed to the bottom of your to-do list. Once you've done it, you'll never look back.

Organise your makeup

Nail polish, brushes, powders, lipsticks, eyeshadows, primers, the list goes on; there are hundreds of makeup products for you to get your hands on. How many times have you thought of organising all those things so you can find them first time?

Transparent boxes are the best thing for it, making cleaning easier and allowing you to find what you need at a glance. And with compartments of all different sizes and heights, every product has a home.

We opted for a solution (GODMORGON) because, according to our recent study, How much time do we spend searching for things around the home?, boxes like this can help you save up to seven hours a year.

Sort your sewing

For hobbies that use small objects, like the reels of thread needed for sewing, a box with dividers is the ideal solution. Give it a go!

In this case, by storing your tools in this box with compartments you can sort your thread by colour or type. There's also space for other useful items, such as scissors, tape measures, thimbles and needles. These items don't leave marks, meaning you can choose a cardboard box you like and embellish it however you like to make it the best sewing box you've ever had: unique and beautiful, with a home for everything.

No room for a box? Why not try a mini chest of drawers? Store your thread in exactly the same way but placed upright — perfect for keeping in the corner of a table or on your shelf.

Sort your box room

Some rooms, such as box rooms or "junk rooms", are home to a lot of items (both large and small) that it's easy to forget about. Why? In short, they are often hidden, and out of sight is out of mind.

Transparent boxes come to the rescue once again to help us organise our homes. Objects can be categorised by owner, room or function and put in boxes that are deep enough for everything. These SAMLA transparent boxes are stackable and big enough for bulky items, making them our ideal choice.

With solutions like these, you can extend the life of your items, reduce wear and tear, find everything quickly and easily, and prevent marks and dust from collecting.

For electronic devices

Count how many electronic devices you have. Now think how many of them have a power cord or accessory. And how many times have you searched high and low for that one cable, or tried to use the wrong one? Those days are over! We have boxes on our side.

We've used KUGGIS here — thanks to its two layers, each with a different structure, you can store both your devices and their cables, whatever their size. The bottom layer is perfect for cables, while the top layer has compartments to help keep accessories tidy. What do you think? If anything goes missing, you'll know what it is. Now you know where they are, you'll never lose your items again!

For kitchen drawers

If your kitchen is short on drawers, try storing small things like spices in a transparent box with a handle. That way, you'll have everything to hand in one place. Or how about using it for other items, such as storing tins of paint?

Win the fight against laziness and make the most of your time at home by organising your things, making your life easier and leaving you more time for the things that really matter.
