Customise your home with our limited DEKORERA collection
This season, our main inspiration came from 17th-Century Dutch painters, such as Rembrandt, Vermeer and Hals, to create a collection that combines their melancholic style with traditional Scandinavian craftsmanship. The result? A home of the utmost elegance and cosiness.
The days are getting shorter and our bodies are crying out for us to spend more time at home making nice and relaxing plans that keep us out of the cold. Based on that feeling of melancholy that comes with this time of year, we have designed DEKORERA, a collection of textiles and accessories that combine the rich, striking tones used by these artists, their style and traditional crafts. Let's take a look!
Decoration taken from a still life
Still life was one of the main themes in which the Dutch artists from whom we have drawn inspiration worked, so such elements were an absolute must for our collection.
The key to adding cosiness to this little corner is to place candles on these majestic DEKORERA candlesticks. At night-time, simply turn them on to achieve that cosy atmosphere we're looking for. The final touch? A couple of decorative pieces with designs that evokes nature.
Textiles that add a splash of colour
As the shades used by these painters were quite dark, we've decided to generate contrast by creating textiles that combine their palette of colours (grey, green and dark browns) with other much more striking and bright colours such as pink, white or greenish blue. All with geometric prints.
As such, we managed to renovate style, extract simplicity and brighten up the room. These blankets and cushions are ideal for both the bedroom and the living room, where you'll undoubtedly spend more than one evening curled up reading, drinking a hot cup of tea or enjoying interesting conversation.
Textiles that add a touch of elegance
If you're looking for more understated textile accessories for one of the rooms in your home, our DEKORERA collection features even more options. One example is these velvet cushions in maroon and gold that will completely change the room. We placed it on the STRANDMON armchair and have achieved a sophisticated, completely renewed style through this small change alone.
To complete the look, we have placed the collection's green striped rug underneath. The fringed fabric makes it a cosier piece for the winter.
Trays inspired by masterpieces
Turn your house into an art gallery thanks to these trays. Sound familiar? That's right, these designs have been taken from two famous paintings by Vermeer and Da Vinci with which you are probably familiar: Girl with a Pearl Earring and Mona Lisa. The good news, though, is that they're much less expensive than the originals.
As we said, they're trays, so you can use them as such, or turn them into decorative pieces like we have here. The choice is yours. Either way, they'll add a touch of elegance to your home.
Rustic-yet-timeless tableware
For the kitchen, in our limited DEKORERA collection, we have opted for round, soft shapes, with bowls, mugs and jugs inspired by the traditional craftsmanship and techniques of Northern Europe. Versatile tableware, which goes to show how certain styles are timeless and can look magnificent in your home, much as they did hundreds of years ago adorning the table of a country manor house.
And the best thing about it? Being white, it will combine perfectly with all kinds of table linen and you can get a lot out of it because it suits different styles. So, if you want to change up your decor in the future, you won't have to worry about this tableware.
These are all the pieces that form part of our DEKORERA limited edition, characterised by elegance and simplicity. Which have you fallen in love with? Whatever it is, if you'd like more inspiration on how to add a different touch to your home decor this season, we have some other items that may interest you here.
