7 ideas to better organise your home with small changes
One of those "pending tasks" in most homes is tidying up a specific area. And there's always that one room, cupboard or drawer that seems to defy even our best efforts. And, although we don't believe in perfect and idyllically structured homes, we do believe in people who are seeking easy and versatile solutions to improve their functionality.
That's why, with the firm intention of helping you to achieve this efficiency, we have prepared 7 ideas for organising your home with small, affordable, useful and practical changes—however big or small your home may be. Interested? You'll start seeing your home as a place with many more possibilities than you thought!
1. Closed storage to hide clutter
What you can't see, doesn't exist. Or at least that's what often happens. In fact, there are times when, no matter how much cleaning you do, there are always some things that you don't really know how to store or organise.
So your best option is to use closed storage, that way you can take advantage of it to your benefit. Relaxing in a living room or bedroom that is a complete mess seems like an impossible task, don't you think?
If you have open shelves, try mixing boxes and baskets on the different levels to hide the small or messy things you need but don't want to see all the time. You'll achieve a much tidier and organised look.
2. How to make the most of every nook and cranny of a home
It's time to sit back, look at your home objectively and rethink how you're doing things. Are you really making the most of it? Surely there is some space with more uses than it may seem. Every corner is an opportunity!
For example, originally, this stairwell was practically empty. However, after taking advantage of the wall space, it has turned out to be the perfect place to create a mini pantry. To do this, we fitted some modular shelves on the wall and, as there is no space for a large piece of furniture, we added a trolley, which is also great for moving the utensils we need from one place to another. And, as in the previous tip, we've used baskets and jars to organise food items.
That way, we can turn an awkward and irregular space into a useful and practical place for very little money. Can you think of any other ideas for this corner? Perhaps, with some shelves and racks, it could have become a mini wardrobe. Imagination is powerful!
3. How to make the most of kitchen space
We feel more comfortable cooking when everything is perfectly tidy and as on hand as possible—there's no denying it. Small kitchens are a constant test of cleanliness and organisation, which is why we've come up with a few tricks to make the most of yours.
Racks and hooks are an excellent way to improve storage and organisation, so don't hesitate to install a few to hang all kinds of things: pot lids, small saucepans, slotted spoons, frying pans... But make sure they aren't too heavy or bulky so you don't exceed the maximum load capacity.
Another one of the most effective options for gaining more space in the kitchen is to make the most of vertical storage. That's why we installed some open structure shelves which also help to create a greater feeling of spaciousness. In this case, we went a step further and added some containers for our favourite condiments. What do you think? It adds a natural touch.
This technique will allow you to have an extra place to put jars and other items without complicating things too much. We recommend that you place the things you use most on the shelves and racks, and use drawer space for heavier and less frequently used utensils.
4. Organising kitchen furniture correctly
While we're on the subject, how do you organise your kitchen drawers and cupboards? If there's one mess that everyone hates, it's the one we find when we open a kitchen cabinet. Especially those places where we keep cleaning products, scrubbers, cloths... In the end, everything ends up disorganised: jars falling over, dirty or sticky surfaces—a mess!
The solution to this problem is probably one of the simplest: storage boxes with handles to make it easier to move them around. You can use one for laundry products, another for floor cleaning supplies, another for cloths and scrubbers... Structure it however you like—the result will always be the same: order, order and more order.

5. Storage ideas in plain sight
Not everything has to be hidden away! Nothing makes life more comfortable than having everything you need near at hand or seeing your favourite decorations displayed front and centre.
That's why open storage is a wonderful idea for both cases. You can pair it with small boxes or baskets to help you to maintain order and harmony.
If you feel like giving free rein to your creativity, we recommend that you create your own storage structure with individual cabinets. It's a great way to organise all your things while personalising your home and adding a touch of style at the same time.
6. How to make the most of the hallway or entry
Most of us take more than an hour to get out of the house after getting up. AN HOUR! And it's often because we waste time looking everywhere for our backpack, scarf, bike helmet, handbag... Enough!
A simple (and ultra-practical) hallway shelf (in this case we've painted the brackets white and added hooks underneath) could make your mornings even easier before you head out the door. Bag, keys, scarf, coat, helmet... ready to go!
7. Clothes racks to keep your clothes near at hand
Maybe you've never thought about it before, but a clothes rack may be just what you need to substantially improve your morning routine. And you don't have to give up an inch of your bedroom. Just take a look at this idea. By taking advantage of the ceiling, we have the perfect space to hang our outfit for tomorrow and, at the same time, we have the opportunity to decorate the room in a very original way (always keeping in mind the weight, of course).
Did you know that choosing the clothes we'll wear the next day helps us to wake up less rushed and less stressed? Order makes your life easier and makes you happier, think about it!
