Six ideas to make your home warmer and more cosy than ever

Shorter days with less daylight are here, and with them the temptation to curl up under a cosy blanket on the sofa. Because of that, you spend more time at home and we want to help you make your room cosier while still reflecting your style. Read on and take note!

Warm textiles to keep your home warm

Textiles are a fantastic way to shake up spaces without breaking the bank, and even small changes can transform a room. With the arrival of winter, warm textiles are back in force to make your home even cosier. And it's not just a case of putting the radiators on full blast: curtains, blankets and rugs help keep the house warm for longer. You'll be so comfortable you won't want to go out!

Coloured curtains to keep the cold out and the warmth in

Curtains are not only useful for the autumn and winter, they are essential throughout the year. And they're not just ideal for decor – they also regulate how much light comes in, keep the cold out and make spaces more intimate and warm. You can choose nets and curtains to insulate your living room and bedroom and keep them at the right temperature. Curtains also block cold air that tries to come in through the window.

Protect your floor from the cold with stylish rugs

Over the colder months, rugs take on a key role in your rooms once more as they bring warmth and style to homes and protect the floor. You could choose to combine various types of rug to bring texture and a sense of movement to your spaces. For even greater warmth, go for a high pile that adds even more comfort. Fabrics like wool and velvet, or even synthetic fibres, will be even nicer still. But of course – remember to take your shoes off at the front door so you don't traipse dirt through the house, especially not on your rugs.

Cosy pillows, cushions and blankets for winter

One of the best things about spending time at home is that moment when you curl up one the sofa. If you want your cosy film nights or reading time to be even more irresistible, put a nice blanket on your sofa that you can wrap up in. We can also change our cushion covers to alternate between those that are cooler and those that are thicker for winter use. Get hold of some smooth velvet covers and you will see just how comfortable a cushion can be!

Bedding to stay warm

Although we don't spend as much time in the bedroom as, for example, we do in the living room, we also have to adapt it and prepare it for the cold weather, because we know that there's nothing worse than getting into a cold bed.

So go for thicker and warmer sheet sets or a good duvet that you can properly snuggle up in to resist the lower temperatures. Ahh! And remember to wash your sheets or duvet cover at least once a week at 60º or following the manufacturer's instructions.
