Terms and conditions of use of the customer ratings and reviews service

Your opinion is important to us!

The customer rating and reviews service (the CRR service) is offered by IKEA IBÉRICA, S.A. and these terms and conditions shall govern our relationship when you use the CRR service and when you give an opinion, rating or review that could be published. These terms and conditions set forth the information regarding the manner in which reviews will be processed by IKEA IBÉRICA, S.A.

In the event of any conflict between our Privacy Policy and the content of these terms of use, these terms and conditions will prevail with regard to the CRR service.

By using the CRR service and submitting an opinion, rating or review for publication, you confirm that:

  • You are of legal age
  • You are acting freely and are not impersonating a third party.
  • You are the author and sole holder of the intellectual property rights of the content that you send.
  • You voluntarily waive any rights that you may have with regard to said content.
  • The content that you send is truthful and respects all the following limitations:
    • It does not infringe any law or regulation.
    • It is not false, inaccurate, misleading or biased.
    • The information contained in the comment has not been obtained illegally or improperly.       It does not violate third-party proprietary rights of any kind such as: copyright, trademarks, commercial and trade secrets, or the right to privacy and honour;
    • It cannot be considered slanderous or discriminatory; it does not incite hatred; it does not contain racial, religious or gender prejudice; it is not offensive and does not contain threats; and it cannot be considered to be harassment of any person or company.
    • No payment or other benefit has been or will be received for the said comment, whether directly or indirectly.
    • It does not include direct or indirect advertising of products or services.
    • It does not directly or indirectly mention other companies or brands.
    • It does not include any links or information referring to other websites, addresses, email addresses, contact information or telephone numbers, or, in general, any personal information relating to you or to third parties.
    • It does not contain computer viruses, viral advertising (spam), worms or any other potentially damaging programs, files or links.

You can write a comment in the free text field and rate the product with a number of stars (more stars meaning a higher product rating).

By submitting your opinion, rating or review and confirming compliance with these limitations, as set forth in these terms and conditions, you automatically accept that you shall compensate, where necessary, and hold IKEA IBÉRICA, S.A. (and its agents, subsidiaries and service providers) harmless from any possible penalty, demand or claim for damages (consequential damages and loss of profits) of any type or nature, and from lawyers' and solicitors' fees that may be incurred as a result of a breach of the above guarantees, and in particular, of an infringement by you of any law or rights of a third party. This is without prejudice to the right of IKEA to not publish or to remove your review at any time if the aforementioned guarantees are not met.

With respect to any content submitted, you automatically and freely grant IKEA IBÉRICA, S.A. the perpetual and transferable right to use, copy, modify (without substantial alterations), delete, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative content from, distribute and/or incorporate said content in any format, media or technology anywhere in the world. You also authorise IKEA IBÉRICA, S.A. to share said content and review with any other company of the INGKA business group, and the content and review that you have shared with IKEA IBÉRICA, S.A. may be published on any of the websites, apps or any other format or technology of said other companies of the INGKA Group, and those who view such content and reviews may view it in both its original version and language (as you have sent it to IKEA IBÉRICA, S.A.), and in its translation into the language of the website in question. Your review will be published with your first name that you provided when you registered as an IKEA Family member or when you created your online account, along with the date you posted the review and the country of residence as stated in your IKEA Family member profile or as provided by you when you created your online account.

Prior to its publication, the content of any opinion, rating or review that you submit will be reviewed by IKEA IBÉRICA, S.A. or a third party appointed thereby. We reserve the right to modify (without substantial alterations), adapt, summarise or delete and therefore not publish any content that we consider to violate the provisions of these terms and conditions. In the interest of clarity, under no circumstances will the purpose of such modification be to distort reviews or endorsements by consumers or users in order to promote our products or services.

Once the rating, opinion or review has been sent, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to ask for it to be edited or deleted. Review scores and written comments are usually published within two to four working days.

How can I submit my opinion, rating or review?

  • As a user, you can rate and score each product that you purchase from IKEA via the email that you receive if you are an IKEA Family member, you swiped your Family card when making your purchase and you have agreed to receive marketing communications from IKEA IBÉRICA, S.A. If you are not a member, you didn't swipe your card when making your purchase or you haven't agreed to receive marketing communications from IKEA IBÉRICA, S.A., you won't receive an email from us inviting you to leave a review.
    The email will be sent to the address that you provided to IKEA IBÉRICA, S.A. when you became an IKEA Family member.
    You can also post a review, when logged in as an IKEA Family user, from your purchase history. 
    This enables us to ensure that the person writing the review has purchased or used the IKEA IBÉRICA, S.A. product that they are reviewing. That is why these reviews are shown as verified and labelled "verified" or "verified buyer" or similar.
  • You can also rate and review any other product that is published on our website. In this case, when you submit your review, we will ask you to sign in with a username and password. IKEA IBÉRICA, S.A. informs users of the CRR service that, when a review is submitted this way, it is not possible to fully verify whether the person who wrote the review has used or purchased the IKEA product. As such, these reviews are unverified in the sense that it cannot be confirmed that they were written by someone who has actually used or purchased our product. These reviews are therefore considered "unverified" and will, under no circumstances, be displayed as verified.

By accepting these terms and conditions when you submit an opinion, rating or review, you authorise us to publish your name (the name that you provided when you created your online account or when you became an IKEA Family member), along with the content of your review, by means of any print or digital media, and in any format, media or technology anywhere in the world. You also authorise us to publish the date you posted the review and your country of residence as stated in your IKEA Family member profile or as provided by you when you created your online account.

Furthermore, by accepting these terms and conditions when you submit an opinion, rating or review, you agree that we and our service providers may use the email address that is linked to your review to contact you regarding the status of your review. We will not use your email address for marketing purposes, and we will not allow any third party that is not involved in providing the CRR service to do so. Depending on the feedback provided, we may contact you, based on the legitimate interest of IKEA IBÉRICA, S.A, in the event that we issue a safety warning about any of our products or that we need to investigate incidents relating to the safety of IKEA products.

IKEA IBÉRICA, S.A. guarantees that it does not publish false reviews and neither rewards nor authorises any other natural or legal person to submit reviews to promote products or services. Advertising content published by IKEA IBÉRICA, S.A. on this website, via any other channel or by any other means, shall be labelled as such.

Display of reviews of IKEA products by customers from other countries. IKEA IBÉRICA, S.A. informs website and app users that they will be able to view content and reviews provided for IKEA products by customers and users from other countries who have purchased in IKEA stores of the INGKA Group. These reviews are displayed with the content as provided by that customer or user in that other country, the date of the review and the country of origin, as well as their first name, as provided by them when they became an IKEA Family member or created an online account on that country's website.  The website and app user may choose to view an automatic translation of this review, although IKEA will not be held responsible for the accuracy or inaccuracy of such translation. These reviews will be displayed as verified when those users, in their respective country, have posted the review via the email received after a purchase from IKEA in that country or via their purchase history as an IKEA Family user in that country. Reviews posted directly on the respective country's website shall not be displayed as verified, as although the user would have registered online, IKEA in that country would not be able to verify whether the user did indeed use or purchase the product.  IKEA IBÉRICA, S.A. does not intervene in the collection, moderation or publication of reviews by IKEA (INGKA Group) users and customers in other countries.
