    What’s been keeping us awake at night? The dream of creating cosy bedding that uses less virgin cotton. Meet SOLFIBBLA bed linen, made with 50% recycled cotton sourced from textile production waste. Shorter fibres make recycled cotton harder to work with, but with plenty of persistence (and a few late nights), we found our way. And created a soft, durable fabric that even the pickiest sleeper will appreciate.

    How do you know which bed linen material is right for you? We all have our unique style and comfort needs, so it helps to know the benefits of the different types. Here’s a quick guide to tell you all you need to know about the different materials that make up our bed linen.

    Lyocell: excellent moisture-wicking properties and a silky feel means lyocell bed linen creates a cosy, dry sleep environment. Blends beautifully with cotton.

    Viscose: lightweight and colourfast, with a soft and smooth texture, viscose creates breathable bed linen that also blends well with cotton.

    Cotton: soft cool and crisp cotton is a durable fabric that allows air to circulate and absorbs moisture, while feeling gentle against your skin.

    Polyester: easy care and wrinkle-free, polyester is very colourfast so it always looks and feels good. Which will you choose?

    Need to choose your duvet cover but don't know where to start? Follow these simple steps to get it right:

    Choose the Size of Your Duvet Cover

    At IKEA, we have duvet cover sizes for every bed:

    • For Single Beds: Duvet covers measuring 150 x 200 cm are recommended for single beds. They include a matching pillowcase of 50 x 60 cm.
    • For Queen Size Beds: Choose duvet covers measuring 240 x 220 cm if your bed is between 135 cm and 160 cm wide. If you prefer the cover to drape over the sides and your bed is 160 cm wide, consider a duvet cover of 260 x 220 cm. Includes two matching pillowcases of 50 x 60 cm.
    • For King Size Beds: A duvet cover measuring 260 x 220 cm is best for a king size bed 180 cm wide. Includes two matching pillowcases of 50 x 60 cm.
